Well the fact that they are the first ever Iranian metal band signed to a European metal label is worthy of much praise for perseverance as playing metal in Iran is likely to get you thrown in jail. These guys have reached album number 2 now on Pure Steel Records. The debut was like a demo it was so badly recorded and showed a very small amount of talent. There are 3 new songs up on myspace from their new album Visions of the Seeker. The production has seemingly improved from what I can tell on myspace. The songs are a little bit better but so derivative of Iced Earth it's not even funny. Mahyar the guitarist is also a huge fan of Chuck from Death and this shows up a little in his playing on a primitive level. Everything is so primitive and basic sounding that you'd think that they'd get to album 6 or something before they start to sound half way decent. The worst aspect of the band and something which is likely to forever hold them back, are the vocals of Ashkan. The boy does literally the worst Matt Barlow impression ever heard and it's rather painful and hilarious to hear his "emotional" Barlow yodelling and crooning bless him. May Allah the all merciful have mercy on his soul! Anyway I just wanted to say that Angband exists and Mahyar is a cool dude for liking Chuck so much.
