Blind Guardian TIX on sale tomorrow for ATL!

Yes, it's about a 1,200 person venue, sloping floor (normally no seats) down to a decent stage and a small balcony above. It's in Buckhead, one of Atlanta's social epicenters on weekends, so expect a fair amount of traffic and to pay for parking. :erk: Decent sound unless your band is called Porcupine Tree.

The venue faces out into the small triangular park between Peachtree St. and Roswell Rd where they join, and in this park is one of Georgia's official oddities according to Weird U.S.: the Buck-man. It's this weird nekkid asexual human-like being except he has a buck's head, and he's sitting on a log and telling stories to woodland critters. It's not as creepy as Babyland General Hospital ("We have cabbage dilation!"), but it is kinda weird.

Reasons why Glenn didn't use the Roxy for PPUSA in Atlanta:
-- not quite close enough to MARTA rail line
-- not quite close enough to that many hotels
-- backstage room and amenities are cramped
-- not really enough room for all the vendors...it could probably be done, but it wouldn't be pleasant
-- it is managed by Clear Channel (now it is, not sure if it was back then)
