Every album they put out from kill'em all to the black album was great. Load, although was more hard rock oriented, in itself was a pretty good album too. St. Anger was down right TERRIBLE, and Death Magnetic was not any better. James's vocals sound so shitty anymore when you put it up against the REAL metallica.

Garage has the best James vocal performances IMO. The "calm" songs like Astronomy, Turn The Page, Tuesday´s Gone and Whiskey In The Jar sounds are awesome with his voice on this disc. Actually everything sounds awesome on the album, really good mix.

Metallica's "Garage Inc." is only interesting for collectors and die-hard fans as it's a rather odd mixture of newly recorded cover songs and cover songs recorded over more than one decade prior to this release. Even though these are cover songs, they are witnesses of the general controversial development of the band.
