Well, getting back to "real" oldschool stuff, here are some difficult choices I put on ya... just choose the best of two bands each time in your opinion. I'm talking all about the 80's stuff of these bands !! Make your choice and comment it (make it easier for me to pick my choices later on )

2) Rush or Queensryche ?
3) Y&T or Riot ?
4) Alcatrazz or Mercyful Fate ?
5) Exciter or Anvil ?
6) SOD or Anthrax ?
7) Loudness or Tokio Blade ?
8) Frank Marino or Ted Nugent ?
9) Savatage or Iron Maiden ?

1) Helstar or Fates Warning ? Fates Warning. "Awaken" is a classic record. But, I must be fair: I've never heard Helstar.

2) Rush or Queensryche ? Queensrcyhe, by FAR.

3) Y&T or Riot ? Well, I've not heard Riot, but I have heard Y&T & think nothing of them.

4) Alcatrazz or Mercyful Fate ? THE KING! No question about it!

5) Exciter or Anvil ? Never heard the music of either.

6) SOD or Anthrax ? Anthrax. Milano's lyrics are garbage.

7) Loudness or Tokio Blade ? Never heard either.

8) Frank Marino or Ted Nugent ? Ah, pass.

9) Savatage or Iron Maiden ? Maiden, although I love Savatage. Maiden is simply among my fav ever bands.

10) Van Halen or AC/DC ? AC/DC, hands down.

That's a tossup. Both have released one of my favorite albums (Moving Pictures and Mind Crime).

3) Y&T or Riot ?
Riot. Because I've only gotten into them over the last few years so they are still fresh to me.

4) Alcatrazz or Mercyful Fate ?
Easy one... Alcatrazz.... I on't like King Diamond at all.

5) Exciter or Anvil ?
Exciter. Man the first 2 or 3 Exciter albums are just fantastic albums!

6) SOD or Anthrax ?
Speak English is a classic but overall I preferAnthrax.

7) Loudness or Tokio Blade ?
Loudness. Akira is a monster on the guitar!

8) Frank Marino or Ted Nugent ?
Neither. Never really heard Marino, I used to kind of dig Ted but I can't stand his "I'm the biggest dawg" additude these days.

9) Savatage or Iron Maiden ?
Come on!!! Maiden all the way!

10) Van Halen or AC/DC ?
Another tossup. Both are good hard rock party music. Not a big fan of either but don't dislike them.

Mercyful Fate cos I ain't listened to Alcatrazz. Bit of an unfair comparison though? I mean, they're completely different styles, right? Maybe?

5) Exciter or Anvil ?
Two Canadian beauties! Exciter for the speed

6) SOD or Anthrax ?
Anthrax. SOD are cool as a joke band, but in these cases there's not much comparison really...

7) Loudness or Tokio Blade ?
Hmmm, ok, out of these two I have heard precisely one Tokyo Blade riff and that's it! The one that sounds like Two Minutes To Midnight by Maiden, ring any bells?

8) Frank Marino or Ted Nugent ?
Ohhh, tough! I'll have to pass on this one due to lack of experience...

9) Savatage or Iron Maiden ?
Savatage are cool, but this is no contest. Maiden.

Easy, Fates Warning based on Spectre Within and Awaken the Guardian, two of the greatest metal records ever recorded. John Arch is GOD!

2) Rush or Queensryche ?
Tough one there. I choose Queensryche because Rush was shoved down my throat too much.

3) Y&T or Riot ?
Another easy one. Riot, I love Fire Down Under, Restless Breed, and Thundersteel!

4) Alcatrazz or Mercyful Fate ?
MF had more good albums, but I choose Alcatrazz based simply on their first album with Yngwie. That is another of my all time classics and a regular on my playlists to this day.

5) Exciter or Anvil ?
I never heard much exciter, but I loved Anvil too! Metal on Metal and Forged in Steel are GODLY!

6) SOD or Anthrax ?
Eh, not much a thrash fan. I'll go with Anthrax though cause I do love the song Reservations.

7) Loudness or Tokio Blade ?
Loudness. Saw them in concert in Pocatello Idaho, that guitarist was awesome and Thunder in the East is still a fav of mine.

8) Frank Marino or Ted Nugent ?
Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush! Never was much of a Nuge fan, not sure why.

9) Savatage or Iron Maiden ?
SAVATAGE is my all time favorite band. My apologies to Maiden, because I love them too.

10) Van Halen or AC/DC ?
AC/DC because Back in Black is one of the greatest rock albums ever made.

Fates gets very little credit for being THE BAND tha6t really created the prog metal movement.

Wow !! That is tough. Rush's body of work is better, but I have to go with QR. Mindcrime is nothing short of incredinle.

I slightly prefer Y&T

4) Alcatrazz or Mercyful Fate ?

Another tough one. Alcatraz helped introduce the world to Malmsteen, but MF is had better music. I say MF.

5) Exciter or Anvil ?

Exciter !! Solid band.

6) SOD or Anthrax ?

Anthrax was a wee bit better.

7) Loudness or Tokio Blade ?

Definitely Loudness in my ears.

The Nuge, though to be honest, I don't know Frank. Is that Dan's brother ?

Arghh !! tough tough one. I prefer Savatage though, but only slightly

I would have to go with the Martin Sabbath era, though
Dio has got my respect for recording two very good records on his last outtings...

Dokken or Motley Crue= Motley of Course! Better songs. Though Under Lock & Back are great records...

Megadeth or Metallica=Megadeth. I have stayed a fan of most of their work...

Exodus or Death Angel=Exodus, though both of these bands put out great records last year & made the presence known in the metal scene.

Carcass or Death=Death was a very technical band, for the genre, but Carcass
was atad bit "sicker" if you ask me. Carcass it is...

Diamond Head or Venom=Diamond Head was the better of these two NWOBHM bands...
Venom is great, but DH I can pop in anytime & I have to listen to the entire thing....

Joe Satriani or Steve Vai=Joe. Listen to "Friends" & you'll be hooked...

Whitesnake(70's era) or Deep Purple= DP hands down. I never got W.S.

ZZ Top or Foghat=ZZ Top their first 6 records are king... Foghat was more of a flash in the pan...

Alice Cooper(band) or David Bowie=Alice Cooper band....

Symphony X or Dream Theater=X wins this, if DT were more of a consistent band I would have to go with them....

Nevermore or Metal Church=Ugh. I will have to go with Nevermore. I love all their stuff.
I love the first two MC records & everything after that has been a mixed bag to me...
