Yes!! Sonata Arctica adds So. Florida date!

It also sucked that Rhapsody never came to the west coast. West Coast from my experience has a bigger metal scene then the east (no disrespect). I'm also saying this based on shows i personally attented in the FL, NY, and NJ areas. I see way better turn outs for Santa Ana and Los Angeles for metal shows so Sonata Arctica will no doubt be very packed!

Well according to Fabio & Patrice, and Holyhell's Tom Hess, they have all told me that they will be returning to the United States. In the begining, I was told it would be February, but then I found out it would be January, and now it seems I haven't heard any word yet, and "nothing has been confirmed yet" according to one of the guys. So! I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I guess that is either still in the works, or something they do plan to do early next year, since they are doing the World Tour and German dates are already announced.

Anyway, as far as L.A., I'm sure that places like that and NY have the best scenes in all of the United States, they're so big and that's the place everyone wants to move in to or go to. Florida and other states have a different atmosphere, so it's rare to see packed venues, though Power Metal really does that job well. Not to huge, giant venues. I heard that the Hammerfall/Edguy show in LA was pretty empty, and everyone was in the front, but it was not full, you guys probably have bigger venues, I don't know. But anyway, a couple of years ago you couldn't even move an inch in the Blind Guardian show (which I missed :erk: ) and Manowar and Rhapsody was packed, and King Diamond was too, and Dio and bla bla bla..

However, I went to see Rata Blanca Sunday night and it was so empty (in an arena, how sad), it was a disaster show due to the circumstances.. but I hung out with the band till 6 am!! So this was cool.. mm... Trans-Siberian Orchestra did very well, the hard rock casino live in Hollywood was pretty well suited with many people!!

Anyway Kev, that's a HORRIBLE news!!!!!! So many I have known have said they had no idea Rhapsody was playing!! Man, they were soooo much better than Manowar!! Totally stole the show, in my opinion.

By the way, I might be able to help you with the road trip if you agree to stay Friday and Saturday up there, we have two hotels but you'll probably (and should) ride with some people cause we're trying to save gas, don't know how you'd feel driving with people you don't know or in the same hotel with some you don't know, but I can't make promises, I will let you know soon!! =)

I shouldn't type anymore..

Hey you can count on me to be there definetly. I checked out your music. Sounds really good. look forward to meeting/seeing you guys . It sucks that Into Eternity dropped off. I hope to catch them in the future either on tour with either a awesome power metal band or a killer brutal death metal band ! It also sucked that Rhapsody never came to the west coast. West Coast from my experience has a bigger metal scene then the east (no disrespect). I'm also saying this based on shows i personally attented in the FL, NY, and NJ areas. Thanks for the compliment on our music! I recently saw Stratovarius and Into Eternity at the same venue on a Monday night and it was totally packed. Hope we have the same turn out for Sonata. I look forward to meeting you, Joseph. Contact me before you come over and I'll get you the discounted tickets. Later ...

Hi everyone I caught word that Theocracy was being considered as an opener on some select dates, but no final decision has been made.

Show some support for the Theocracy guys if you'd like to see that happen!

Brutal hails thy Empress.....

About Hammerfall/edguy in L.A. I wasn't there (mainly because i wasn't even in the country) but the show drew a 383 people from a friend of mine who worked for the venue for that show. House of blues there is a huge venue so thats why it did probably look small. the capacity of it is 1,300. King Diamond and Kreator packed that venue this year with door counts of at least 450 if not alot more! Don't know the count for each show exactly but I know for a fact from how huge the turn out was it would take at least 3 times the size of culture to accomidate it. when i saw Decrepit birth in corona cali the venue brought at least 60 people where as probably maybe 20 people would show in CR. that is assuming that i believe CR can only hold 300 people max. Blind Guardian did pack that place. i remember that show well.

So your coming out here in feb for the 2 southern cali shows for sonata ? damn that dedication! i give you props for that. I'm already driving there myself with 2 friends of mine. as far as a hotel is concerned it;s kool. everytime me and my friend hazel go we always stay with her ex b/f place. i and my friends i'm sure wouldn't mind meeting you at either a hotel or anywhere else. well if you wann keep in contact just add me on your myspace. I know you know my best friend Nav. any people nav finds cool and trustworthy then i can also find trustworthy. especially since he knows how difficult i can be :headbang:

Hi, yes I know a lot about you you know a lot of people that I know. I went with Navan and Jay to this past Progpower. I'm not going to LA to see Sonata though, they're coming in Culture Room, maybe I wrote the wrong way. But I might be in LA for February for some project, I'll let be known if I decide to go. :)

In any case, to unclekev, MAN KAMELOT RULED !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :OMG: What a great setlist!!!!!!!!! They played a lot of songs from Epica ;D I met the whole band, and KHAN RECOGNIZED ME FROM PROGPOWER!!! And we had a nice talk!! Opeth, Nevermore and Into Eternity was great too ;)

That's awesome! I'm glad that you had a great time! I knew that Kamelot would kick ass! :kickass: I really wanted to go, but I knew that going on Friday and making it back on time for my commitment, which I ended up having to go to even earlier, on Saturday, would have made things a bit difficult. I look forward to seeing the pics and finding out more of what you and Khan talked about (anything about Conception recording or touring???). Well, the next good to great concert that comes by, Sonata Artica or whatever, I'll be sure to be there and hang out and bang my head with ya! :headbang:
