    Burst - Origo

Good review and an incredible album, reminds me of Extol in the use of phrasing and melody but with much more variation and cohesion. It's hard to see them improving on near perfection.

Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance

I agree with all the comments here, I was unimpressed at first glance but there is a huge level of sophistication and subtlety throughout the entirety of the album. I'm gutted that it's not out for release for a while, one of the best moments for me is the clean section in the second song, which...

Neurosis - The Eye of Every Storm

All Neurosis stuff is progressive gold. They seem to be at home with everything from their fast hardcore punkish era to the slow moody later stuff. This one is probably the most accessible but is still pure brilliance.

    Mastodon - Leviathan

Its almost perfect. No more drawn out passages and boring sections like in Remission, its all killer. Great review, as you said, Mastodon are so far ahead of the likes of KE its not funny.

Undeceived and Burial are fantastic. Synergy is just weak and :erk:

    Production Values

The only problem with Still Life is that fucking tracking problem over a few tracks. It really annoys me when I listen to it with headphones.

    The Lopez beat

You mean the 6/8 and 3/4 stuff and 1:52 in April Ethereal? (which isn't in 6/8 or 3/4)

    Download Festival

It might aswell be top of the pops apart from Opeth and DEP. I can't believe they're actually gonna bother playing.

Brann Dailor of Mastodon on Remission: Show me a better drumming performance?

I think Will Scharf of Keelhaul is more pleasing to the ears and has more groove, although in all his interviews he says he doesn't know what he's playing and he ruins the records.

Linkin Park, Metallica, Nirvana, Rammstein cds

Wow, all my favourite cd's in one shop!

    Does the image even matter....

Well, Keelhaul look like the biggest bunch of freaks you'll ever see but they make unbelievable music. Pelican look emo but are far from it. I still think that most bands that use corpse paint are trying to get attention.

    Pitbull Grindcore

I've heard the dogs are somewhat inconsistant live. Still sounds better than a drugged up anselmo to be fair.

    Cult Of Luna-Circle

Very nice track  Gotta love dissonant chords. This is how Katatonia should sound ;)

    Cult Of Luna-Circle

Yeah Genesis is fantastic aswell, as is the end of Arrival. Picked up the cd about 3 days ago and the density has really gripped me. I'm finding it hard to listen to anything else after it.

    Cult Of Luna-Circle

Oh my fucking god :OMG: Music doesn't get much better than this. Especially when the huge guitars come in with the electronic part in the background. I can't get bored of this track

Anticipating this cd for ages, I finally woke up to dicover it sitting underneath a pile of letters this morning. As soon as I opened the packaging I knew this was something special indeed. The artwork is stunning and comprises of layers of rendered clouds over a landscape. My only gripe is the...
