The Low Low, IL
My upcoming shows that Im REALLY looking forward to are Katatonia/Scar Symmetry/Swallow the Sun/Insominum at the Pearl Room Mokena,IL

Enslaved at the Pearl Room
(last time I seen them was w/ Dark Funeral and Enslaved stole the show)

possibly: Velvet Revolver/ Alice in Chains
(not much of fan of VR but always wanted to see Jerry Cantrell no matter who he was playing with, AIC or solo). Slash and Jerry on one bill cant suck.:headbang:

Whatta bout' you guys??

Did anyone else hear that the 1st Midwest Ampitheater (Tweeter, The World, Whatever the hell they want to call it this week)
is getting shut down after this season?
Its coming from a reliable source (I know someone that works for Q101) .
Maybe the Odyssey will buy it out and build houses??

Good, that place should shut down.
That is without a doubt the WORST outdoor venue in existence.
Horrible sound.

There are no shows at the current moment that I will be attending with 100% certainty. We have baby #2 on the way in September (Right when a ton of shows are happening).

Doesnt bother me either. The sound has always sucked and they dont allow pre-gaming in the parking lot so they could rape you on 8-10bucks for a friggin beer.
If only Northerly Island had metal acts...

Congrats on the baby bro.

August: Midwest Metal Anthem

September: Katatonia/Scar Symmetry/Swallow The Sun/Insomnium

Firewind with locals BAVMORDA!

EDIT: Can't forget about Symphony X at the Pearl Room July 22nd with locals SACRED DAWN!

Oh ya, isn't Heaven and Hell coming back in Sept.? I know I saw the date that's like in the same week as all those Pearl Room shows. Damnit.

I really hope that the rumor is true about Tweeter closing. I hate that shithole as well. In fact, I refuse to go there anymore. Whoever the acoustic engineer is that designed that place should be shot. That venue ruined many a show for me.

As of now, no concerts planned. May hit up Heaven & Hell/QR at the Sears Center, pending the use of my boss' box suite. I really don't feel like buying tickets to that one since I paid to see them at the Allstate in May.

This month: Symphony X, Lydean Sea

August: Dream Theater, Midwest Metal Anthem

September: Edguy, Firewind w/Bavmorda, Steve Vai

October: Therion, Blackmore's Night, and possibly Nightwish

July 21: Municipal Waste in Lemont... I think they're supporting Agnostic Front, I'm not sure
22: Symphony Fucking X
28: High on Fire
Aug 28: Kamelot... not sure about this one
Sept 21: Sonata Arctica
Sept 22: HEAVEN AND HELL
Sept 23: Edguy (not sure about this one since that would be 3 days in a row)
Sept 28: Finntroll
Oct 29: SUFFOCATION, SKINLESS, IMMOLATION
Nov something: Enslaved

From Blabbermouth:

Launch Radio Networks reports: Die-hard "Van Hagar" fans can rejoice, as they're about to get a taste of both of their favorites: Sammy Hagar has just announced his U.S. tour dates, which will include opener — and ex-VAN HALEN bandmate — Michael Anthony's MAD ANTHONY EXPRESS.

Hagar's headlining show will consist of three hours of the Cabo Wabo Village vibe that was so successful on last summer's Livin'It Up! tour. MAD ANTHONY EXPRESS will perform both early VAN HALEN songs and various early rock classics; the support act, LOS TRES GUSANOS will play early Sammy Hagar songs; and, finally, Hagar and Anthony will perform as THE OTHER HALF — as in "the other half of VAN HALEN" — to perform Hagar-era VAN HALEN tunes.

SAMMY HAGAR tour dates (subject to change):

Sep. 15 - Phoenix, AZ - Beauty of A Bonzer Benefit

Mas Tequilla!!!!!
I don't like Sammy Hagar at all, but I do have to hand it to him.
Instead of becoming an out of shape aging hard rocker, he became an out of shape Jimmy Buffet clone, and it seems to be working.

Aug. 25 : Midwest Metal Anthem Day 2

That gig has a LOT of competition in Sept.

Where is Quenchers? That place sounds familiar.
