Today was actually a pretty good day until about 5pm. I was about to prep my grill for a long cook. I stepped out onto my deck and slipped on the top step that was covered in ice that had formed from the snow that fell off my roof. I thought I had either broken my leg or dislocated my knee. Luckily Jim was still working and he was able to assist me. A call to 911 brought the ambulance quickly. To make a long story short I didn't have a dislocation - I ruptured the tendons holding my knee cap in place (which is now floating around). My leg is immobilzed and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get around and be semi-productive. In the morning I'll be calling a a knee specialist who used to be the team doctor for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. My understanding is the surgery will require about 6 weeks of rehab and recuperation.

So if I'm brief or in a shit mood in the upcoming weeks my apologies in advance.

This sucks to no end. ***this was taken from Ken's forum (yesterday-post)

Thanks everyone. I'm scheduled for surgery next Friday. I'm starting to get back into a normal routine. In the meantime we keep adding new titles and Jim has been great getting the orders out the door. I guess he functions better when I leave him alone. :)

Ouch. I've become more keenly aware of my knees lately, since I'm starting to experience that "gettin' old!" feeling from both of them...and my mom recently had to have knee-replacement surgery, so I know it's only a matter of time.

Get well soon, Ken! Best wishes for a rapid rehab!
