This just seems so forced. They're trying to make "The Astonishing" into a musical Star Wars or something. I rank this disc as their worst one ever, and I'm thinking that they may never have any appeal for me ever again.

Wow!! I LOVE this record!! It is a little different from other DT offerings. I really like the orchestral side of the record. I've only heard it 4 times, but I really like that DT is changing, but fairly subtly.

Did anyone else think it strange that only Petrucci and Ruddess had writing credits??

yea, I liked the album and loved seeing them play it on the first leg (I saw both LA shows), but I really have no desire to see it performed again live this year.
