New Dream Theater

I'll be catching them live in Atlanta in December.

To be honest, I'm not all that impressed with The Astonishing, but it will be nice to see the overall show behind this album.

So the next leg of the tour started last night, and alas they are still playing ONLY The Astonishing in its entirety again, with no additional encore. I truly don't understand how they are pulling off a tour with this many dates near each other (I've got Cleveland, Toledo, and Columbus all nearby) by playing this same set again..... Help me out here.... What am I missing?

I never imagined they would play Columbus and I would have ZERO desire to go see it, but having seen this earlier in Cincy, I really could care less if I saw it again.
 
JOHN PETRUCCI Says DREAM THEATER Fans Are 'Dedicated And Devoted And Open To New Ideas'

"...According to Petrucci, once the last round of "The Astonishing Live" tour dates is completed, DREAM THEATER will start incorporating some of its back catalog into the band's setlist.

"Our final U.S. run will be done beginning of December — I think the last show is December 5, or something like that," he said. "So if you haven't seen 'The Astonishing Live', this is your last opportunity to see it in the U.S. And then, moving forward, we most likely will change things up...."
 
I just saw this show in San Antonio last week. Has anyone else that's seen this show noticed James' voice seemed stronger than ever?? I thoroughly enjoyed this show. I think The Astonishing is a different direction for DT and really enjoyed it, both live and on the CD.

The trek, which gets underway January 30th at Rome, Italy’s Auditorium Parco Della Musica, will see the pioneering group celebrating the 25th anniversary of their milestone album, Images & Words. Each performance will see the band perform the album in its entirety along with fan favorites from their catalogue.
