Progpower name?

I know it sounds stupid but it makes me think

where did it come from? is it from Progressive power as in Prog being the power or from progressive metal and power metal combined?


because you know it's not only Progressive that's played there so...

It's the combination of both Progressive and Power metal in a single festival. That seems like the most logical explanation to me, anyway.

Oh ok I always thought it was like Progressive is the power, and then I said, wait "Why do they have power metal too?" and I realized that I could have mistaken the name

Well, Progpower originated as a European festival, and while I don't know the lineup of the first few events offhand, the last two editions of PP Europe had little or no power metal...
