So perfectprog.com is doing their Prog Metal Album of the year:

http://perfectprog.com/site/perfectpoll/index.php

It's an interesting list.

What's more interesting, however, is the actual number of votes right now.

I first saw this on Facebook when Thought Chamber asked us to vote for them. Its a good album, so I clicked on through.

THEN I saw it on Reddit and saw how active Semantic Saturation is on that thread.

And look at the results of the poll. Is this simply the power of reddit over facebook? Or is it just THAT good of an album.

And there's no way to edit the title after I submit is there? Ugh. I hate a misspelling. Pet peeve of mine. Progress instead of Progressive. DOH!

I saw those results (having seen the link on FW's facebook), and then checked into the Semantic Saturation album. I previewed a few tracks, thought "meh", and went back to listening to Tragedy and Dread Zeppelin.

(Darkness in a Different Light is up next, though. It isn't all novelty music this morning in my house.)

No clue who Semantic Saturation is. Have I missed out on something?

"Semantic Saturation is a progressive rock/metal project founded by Shant Hagopian (guitars) featuring progressive metal gurus Virgil Donati (drums), Ric Fierabracci (bass), with guests; Derek Sherinian (ex-Dream Theater - keyboards) and Andy Kuntz (Vanden Plas - vocals)"

Didn't do much for me; your mileage may vary.
