Looks like Rush will extend their tour into 2008 and revisit some of the tour spots from this year along with some stops in places they haven't been to in a while. I saw them in Charlotte in June and they were superb, although I wish they would play more of the older material and a bit less from Snakes & Arrows......

And the good news is, they probably will play more older material.
Hell, it'd be hard to play MORE material from S&A; they must've played every song except one or maybe two, nyet?

I hope they actually play in New Orleans like the press release says. Not having to travel half a day for a show, much less a Rush show, would be nice for a change.

Saw them in Dallas on the first leg of the tour and it was amazing. Better than the first time I saw them in Atlanta on the R30 tour.

I've not missed a Rush tour in decades, but this might be the one I sit out. S&A is that disappointing to me. I have a 50-50 chance they will stop here and if they do I might go, but I will not be traveling for this tour. This makes me sad.

I haven't missed a Rush tour since Moving Pictures (hey, I was just a kid! :) ), but I was leery of going this time since S&A never really grabbed me in the same way as, say, Signals or -- more recently -- Counterparts did...but I went and it was a good show. (First time seeing them in an outdoor venue, too.)

Most of the fans I talked to would have preferred more older material, but we did get some rare gems. :headbang:

I didn't pay full price for a not-that-close seat, though, just for lawn tickets, and I was kinda glad of that. I'd say the show was worth the price, but it would have been disappointing if I'd seen it from the back of the seated section at the amphitheater.

Even though I saw Rush on the S&A tour, I'll definately see them again if they stop by the Washington, DC metro area. I've seen them on each tour since Test for Echo in 1996 at Nissan Pavilion, and also seeing them during the Roll The Bones tour in Richmond, VA.

This is great news! Many thanks for bringing it to our attention.

My wife and I wanted to see Rush on their S&A tour, but we couldn't get a ticket to their Detroit gig to save our soul. It sold out in minutes, thanks in part to the scalpers (excuse me, I mean brokers) who snatched up large blocks of tickets and resold them for 10 times their face value.

Hopefully, this time we'll get lucky when they revisit Detroit in '08.

Thanks for the info!

Bill

Great news! I'm looking forward to seeing them again. I was at the Atlanta show, then went the Charlotte show 5 days later. I anxious to hear what setlist they will have on the leg of the tour. Hopefully this time Rush will play songs of the Counterparts album (they played nothing off this album during their first leg of S&A). Plus I want them to play other songs like Time Stand Still, The Big Money, Bravado, Force Ten, The Pass, Scars, etc.

I saw them this last time through but I'd almost wager I'll go back if they hit Dallas again. I've seen them every tour since "Signals", at least once, and one never knows just how many more albums or tours they have left in them. Like most, I also hope for some older material on this second jaunt. And I'd love to see them knock the dust off of some old, old classics (well, to me they're classics) like Cygnus X-1 (not part of a medley but the whole damned thing this time), The Necromancer (I think pigs will fly before Rush would choose to play this though), Bastille Day, etc. Whatever the case may be let's just hope they mix up the setlist this time around. :headbang:

I'm glad to hear it, because I couldn't go to the last show due to a prior commitment.

Personally, I love the new stuff, and they tend to mix up the setlist from tour to tour, so I don't mind the mix. I don't go to Rush shows for the greatest hits.

Well, I don't know about the Vapor Trails tour, but they did not tour after the "Test For Echo" tour until "V.T.", dude to Neil's wife & daughter dying! So, that was like what, 5 years?

Oh, there was definitely a long hiatus due to Neil's family issues, but we're talking an 11-year drought for NOLA. Wow.

Exactly! The guy said '96. "Test For Echo" was '96-
'97. I was there! My 1st Rush tour, & only one since
unfortunately! Then, the next year, his family
died! & the next CD after that was V.T.! & then S&A after that! So, that explains it. No clue why they didn't tour N.O. for VT?

Many bands, even big names skip entire states sometimes! I guess they forgot they had fans there! Kinda rude if you ask me!

Well, that 50-50 shot paid off. And now, oddly, I am excited for this tour. Guess I'll be going, even if it is at an indoors venue. Must be a spring date for me.

Just last week Rush officially announced the 2008 extension of the Snakes & Arrows tour. They confirmed that they'd kick off the tour this Spring in Puerto Rico and teased us a little by revealing a few of the cities the tour would cover. I was hoping that I'd get some advance information on more cities/venues and specific dates before year's end. Well... I haven't managed to get any specific dates yet but I did get my hands on a complete list of the venues the band plans on hitting. The list is not in any particular order as the exact dates and routes are still being determined. Venues that are still pending a final decision are indicated with an asterisk (*), while all the other venues are essentially confirmed. The band is also leaving the option open for a second show in Puerto Rico if needed. Again - the list is not in order (except for the Puerto Rico show). Neil Peart drum roll...
