Songs we most want to hear(besides what we KNOW they'll play)

I am almost positive Angra will stick to their basic setlist they've been playing on the Brazillian and European tours. If that's the case, a lot of people won't be disappointed!!!

If Orphaned Land plays the entire Mabool, I will be a happy man.

Conception, anything off Flow.

Stratovarius... That setlist above sounds good to me... Zenith of Power is among the best songs of the new album, they have to play that too!!

Circus Maximus... The entire album and we're fine... lol

Manticora would kick ass playing a good mix of songs, including Help me like no one can, Playing God and King of the Absurd.

The Angra's Setlist of Europeans shows: (in no particular order): Carry On, In Excelsis/Nova Era, Millenium Sun, Acid Rain, Heroes of Sand, Rebirth, and the rest of the setlist, songs from Temple of Shadows

Italian tour? It was ONE gig in Milan - and it was Edenbridge + Manticora supporting Angra :) That tour then continued throughout Spain, France, SWitzerland and Belgium.

Plus - the last gig of the tour had 2 extra songs tagged on at the end:
21. Hallowed Be Thy Name (Iron M) - with lead vocals by Lars, MANTICORA
22. Painkiller (Judas P) - with lead vocals shared between Lars & Edu
Great gig!

As for why they played the cover songs - well, I guess it just was meant as a fun thing to show the fans they also "knew their roots".

It really wouldn't hurt my feelings to see that happen again.

I took a bit and looked up the songs and broke them down by how many they did from each album album, for people who still haven't gotten their "listening to new bands at Prog-Power" albums.....maybe it will help. Not that it's their exact Prog-Power setlist, but it gives you a good idea....

Temple Of Shadows: 7
Rebirth: 5
Angels Cry: 3
Holy Land: 2

And none from Fireworks apparently. I got 'Temple Of Shadows' already.....thinking about maybe getting 'Holy Land' since that seems to be highly recommended.

You guys must have missed what's been going on over at Stratovarius.com. The band put up a poll where the fans chose the "ideal" setlist for the upcoming world tour. They are planning to stick heavily to that, specifically since this is their first North American tour. I would be surprised if we got more than two songs (Maniac Dance being one) from the new album. Here is the results of the poll:

black diamond: 403 votes

hunting high and low: 329 votes

destiny: 323 votes

father time: 290 votes

paradise: 276 votes

speed of light: 274 votes

forever: 265 votes

the kiss of judas: 260 votes

eagleheart: 253 votes

sos: 241 votes

twilight symphony: 239 votes

a million light years away: 238 votes

will the sun rise: 237 votes

distant skies: 236 votes

visions: 236 votes

against the wind: 234 votes

legions: 234 votes

phoenix: 233 votes

That's a cool set, personally I would like to hear at least a few of these but I doubt it will happen:

Galaxies
Nightfall
Night Screamer
Stratovarius
Break The Ice
Dreamspace
Twilight Time
Eternity
Darkness
Father Time
Episode
Infinity

As for Stride, I'm pretty sure they will play "Borrowed Time" and I don't know what all they'll play off the new one but any of these would be cool:

Mental Floss
Carousel
Laboratory 7
Eargasm

Circus Maximus:

Glory of the Empire
Biosfear
Why Am I Here?
Haunted Dreams

Conception:

Gethsemane
Hand On Heart
A Million Gods
Black On Black
Among The Gods
The Promiser
And I Close My Eyes

I need to do some more listening on some of the other bands like Manticora
and Symphorce...

Well then, you know how to make that happen ... just give me the beers, and I'll throw Lars on stage at the end of Angra's show :)

It'd be great to see Therion trot out "Nightside of Eden," which apparently isn't a usual part of their live shows. I fully expect to see a few other excellent and/or classic Therion tunes, but that one tends to get left behind.

I'd like Startovarius to play Soul Of A Vagabond. It's my favorite Stratovarius song, even though the rest of the Elements albums aren't as strong as the back catalog.

I haven't a clue as to what PC69 usually plays, but I'd want to hear Trust The Wiseman over any other song they do.

Strat - Uncertainty, The Abyss of Your Eyes, Rebel, Hold On to Your Dream

Pink Cream 69 - Yesterdays, Better Days, Higher Kind of Life, One Step Into Paradise, Welcome the Night, Sugar for Love

There is just one song that I want to hear this year and that is Speed by Angra. I know it is a song that they came out with a while back, but I would still like to hear it. The scream near the end of that song is incredible.!

Stay Metal!
