You're right Bryan, good checklist! And thanks for backing me up on the genre thing  No I never did catch Overloaded :bah: Don't remind me!

Saw them Saturday night. They conquered the Token Lounge. Next show I see, I'm gonna bring cans of Aqua Net and spandex and throw it at them! I accidentally became a cameraman, cuz someone set up a camera on a tripod and left it 5 feet from the stage, not realising EVERYONE was gonna rush the stage when they started! It was either, I watch that camera get destroyed, or pretend I'm the Boom Cam Operator from Center Stage! It was an awesome show.

I personally wouldn't be as interested if the regular old rock bands that play all the time around here (ie Vallejo) were part of the package. But this festival isn't just about me. ;)

There are already some death and black metal fests around....Destroying Texas Fest was just this past weekend at FBI in Houston.

Well true, there are other metal fests, but by bringing in some out-of-state/out-of-town bands, mixed with a few of the good locals hopefully we can draw a more regional crowd then a local one. It's not about bringing a bunch of unknown bands to a city, but giving the attendees a good night of music that's not so diverse as to scare away a crowd. And eventhough Vallejo rock and I think everyone should see them, I probably wouldn't put them on the fest because they are a bit too light for a metal event called Shred Fest or whatever. But they serve as a good example. I wouldn't want to branch out too far from the genre varieties of metal. Once you do that, the show just becomes a "shift-changer" where everyone comes and goes with "their band" instead of wanting to see the whole event's lineup. This is why I shy away from putting together shows with a pop band, a metal band, a rock band, a punk band, and an acoustic band. I don't know WHY people think that formula works to brong out the most people. LOL!

Back to the point, we can make our fest more than just another black metal or death metal fest since the area doesn't have a need for it. Seems like Texas needs a good ol' kickass metal fest that will bring out the metalheads in droves! Think we can do it gang?!

I have a feeling we're fine. If we talk about drumsticks and missing diamonds, we can certainly talk amongst ourselves about hosting a cool music event in the south.

I nominate John to be our fearless leader.

We'll also be broke as a joke afterwards.

Oh yeah, duh! You only told me about this two months ago and I get jealous everytime I see the commercials! LOL!

So are you going to be on our "committee" for this fest or not?
