I had to add Journey, but otherwise you and I share similar tastes. :kickass:

By the way, I'm glad to see you have the balls to admit Metallica's new one deserves mentioning. I played it over the weekend again and I'm still lovin' it! Naysayers sit down!

:headbang::headbang::lol: Good Deal!! I thought the new Journey was good just not Great, same with the new AC/DC. On the other hand, the new Metallica was a Fantastic album, especially if you ever heard the uncompressed Guitar Hero III version which was even better than the actual release I purchased. :headbang::headbang:

I've had a quiet year as far as new releases go...but here's my short list of top ones:

1. Avantasia "The Scarecrow" - this was a close call, but based on the ammount of spins this one gets, it has to be tops! This disc never tires. I know I'm a Tobi fanboy, but still......

2. Edguy "Tinnitus Sanctus" - a tight second. I know the Edguys get some grief, but for a power metal geek like me, they simply RULE!

3. Metallica "Death Magnetic" - a sweet return to form. Great stuff to crank up in the car!

4. Iced Earth "Crucible of Man" - while not as strong as Part 1, I still love this disc and hearing Matt sing again is worth the price of admission.

5. Motley Crue "Saints of Los Angeles" - one of my guilty pleasures. Much like Metallica, they sound fresh and rejuvinated. Good stuff....

6. Dokken "Lightning Strikes Again" - another 80's band returned with a solid disc IMO. Don sounds great and Levin, although clearly trying to capture Lynch's sound, is a stellar player. Worth picking up.....

Top 25 of 2008...

(hey, DemonOfTheWoods, you haven't posted in almost 2 months! Welcome Back!!)

The new Volbeat would more than likely be on this list, but I have not heard it yet. I can't bring myself to count an album I haven't heard just due to my love of the band. Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil would be #1 on this list, unfortunatley it was a 2007 album that I got in 2008. Anyway....

1. Rage- Carved in Stone
2. Guns n' Roses- Chinese Democracy
3. Atmosphere- When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint that Shit Gold
4. Benedictum- Seasons of Tragedy
5. Alestorm- Captain Morgan's Revenge
6. Sabaton- Art of War
7. Brainstorm- Downburst
8. Saint Deamon- In Shadows Lost from the Brave
9. Magica- Hereafter
10. Katra- Beast Within
11. Lana Lane- Red Planet Blvd.
12. Royal Hunt- Collision Course
13. Jorn- Lonely Are the Brave
14. Avantasia- Scarecrow
15. Circle II Circle- Delusions of Grandeur
