Your personal metal concert history!

Yes, the Sabbath with Gillan is definitely impressive!!!!

TBH - I am not even sure I have ever seen or heard a boot with Gillan fronting Sabbath.

What were their setlists like? Did they do both Ozzy and Dio era stuff too?

Gillen w/Sabbath is/was awesome! (Yes, I have boots...)

Tommy from Boston just OWNED all of us!!!

Holy smokes! I never knew METALLICA played the Rat........

July 31st 1983: Only time I ever saw Cliff Burton was the show at The Rat. Probably 50 people there for a Sunday afternoon all-ages show. They also played the night before but I was on the Cape seeing The B-52's!!

My brother gets the credit for "dragging" me into Kenmore Sq that afternoon; so glad I went :headbang:

If anyone is from the DC area then I am sure you will remember the old 9:30 Club off F St and The Bayou.

9:30 Club
- Candlemass/Liege Lord
- Liege Lord/Death (still have the bootleg recording somewhere)
- Whiplash
- Tackhead (ummm...thought I was going to see Tankard, but after the show ended up purchasing a Tackhead album) *grins*
- DRI/Kreator/Holy Terror (bootlegged this as well)
- Crimson Glory/Mystic Force

College Park, MD
- Testament, Annihilator and Wrathchild America

Bayou
- Voi Vod/Soundgarden (I think there was another band but cannot remember who)
- Faith No More
- Savatage
- Dirty Looks
- Exciter/Megadeth (snuck in - shhh)
- Blue Oyster Cult/Metal Church (got kicked out in the middle of Metal Church's set after they figured out we were underaged)

And a shout out to all the Wilmers Park homies!!! :headbang:

OK, so I finally typed all mine in. Like some others, I just keep a tally of the number of times I've seen a band. It all began for me in the mid-80s.
If I could have been born 10 years earlier, that would have helped me see more of the bands I've gotten into over the years. Haha.

There was a time (late 80s to early 90s) when I didn't miss any rock/metal show that came through town. As you can probably tell, diversity is the key to my concert list. I've gone to Steely Dan and Slayer. I've seen Little River Band and Leatherwolf. I've seen Chicago and Cannibal Corpse.
But that's my taste in music, it's pretty much all over the board. Anyway, it was fun reminiscing about the shows and finally getting it in the computer!

Hail (cover band supergroup formed of Judas Priest/Iced Earth's Tim Ripper Owens, Sepultura's Andreas Kisser, Slayer/Testament's Paul Bostaph, and Megadeth's David Ellefson)

Was supposed to watch DIO (Heaven and Hell) but he died =(.

My first was a local band KIX followed by Ratt opening for Billy Squier in August 1984. My last was Pentagram/Gates of Slumber in 2010. I have over 1,000 ticket stubs as of a year ago for (nearly) all of the shows I have seen and am I now inspired to create an electronic record!!!
