Your Top Ten Of 2004

Riverside - Out of Myself (what a surprise great release)
Fates Warning - FWX
Third Eye Blind - Out of the Vein (might be 03' and certainly not metal)
Angra - Temple of Shadows
Pain of Salvation - 12:5 (Be was also awesome but lacks the replayability of 12:5)
Marillion - Marbles
Threshold - Subsurface (this could be my favorite cd this year.)
Ayreon - Human Equation
Evergrey - The Inner Circle
Dream Theater - Train of Thought (7 songs, 3 of them amazing, 4 good)

Honorable mention to:
Incubus - Crow Left of the Murder
Fuel - Natural Selection (might be 03')
Nightingale - Invisible

I work at a music store, and each employee posts their top ten albums each year. As of last year, we took the Spinal Tap approach and made our top ten lists go to eleven. Without any further ado, here goes:

11. Joe Satriani--Is There Love In Space?
10. Metal Church--Weight Of The World
9. Division--Trinity
8. Jag Panzer--Casting The Stones
7. Marillion--Marbles
6. Edguy--Hellfire Club
5. Dreamscape--End Of Silence
4. Fates Warning--FWX
3. Brave--Passages (hey, we agreed on one!)
2. Dream Theater--Live At Budokan
1. Pain Of Salvation--12:5

I hate when artists I really like put out albums closer to the end of the year because I don't have enough time to explore them and form an educated opinion. By January, I'm sure I would discard one of these albums for Angra's "Temple Of Shadows" or Pain Of Salvation's "Be." Hindsight's always 20/20.

Stay metal. Never rust.

Should we count this as 2004?? It was released in Europe in 2003 and wasn't released here in the states until the beginning of this year. I agree that this was a great release and would have included it in my list but I consider it a 2003 release. This would be my 2nd or 3rd best CD of this year. Anyway...Later! :headbang:
I'm counting it, although opinion is mixed. I've been told on another board that it's a 2003 release, but like you said it wasn't available to most of us in the States until early 2004 if I recall right. Some vendors may have received this in late 2003, but I don't think all of them did. I have seen it listed in other top lists around the net, so I'm not the only one counting it as a 2004.

Hey, Langkowski,
I sure ain't shit without the nubian god of metal! I'll get around to picking up the Silent Force, so don't get your panties in a twist!
