ProgPower USA VIII Date

I just booked my room at the Super 8. I know it is a low rate place but considering how much time I am actually going to spend in the room $69.00 a night was good for me. I stayed there this year and it was cool..Met cool people (3rd floor rocked), plus you get a microwave and refrig to store beer and vodka and late night food. lol...

How the hell did you book the room there already? The website wouldn't let me. I guess I'll call the 800 number and book that way.

I'm glad the date is finally set so we can start booking the room and such. I suppose this is also good news for Metal Rose, since she had a wedding to attend that was set for around the typical time of ProgPower (mid-September).

Yes it is. I've got my hotel set, my vacation time booked and sitter lined up! I'm ready!

Although I'm going to have to attend the wedding. BOOOOO!

Not really, and it's within distance from Marta (which I highly suggest you take). I work in the area, and the traffic does suck, but if you choose to drive, I can give you shortcuts if you need them.

Shortcuts are good. Does the marta run all night?

Does everybody book their hotel rooms in walking distance? Just curious if its the availability of that area. I guess I have gotten spoiled of living 30 minutes from the venue. Maybe it would be cheaper to stay further away like the next county over and take a cab each night. Just a suggestion I guess.

We live 10 minutes away, 5.8 miles, and it's about 12.50 for a cab one way.

Just as expensive as NYC. We havent been drunk where one of us can drive yet but I keep the Safe Drive America number in my walet. I hear its cheaper then a cab especially to Cobb County but I am thinking if you book a hotel 10 miles away I would think the price would be much lower and the cab ride would still be cheaper then 200 bucks a night.

Hot damn! I never manage to eat much a ProgPower. I'll chip in for groceries for a chance to have a decent meal.

Bob and I would love having you guys over. We'll have to have a little get-together before Wed night's karaoke party. :kickass: As long as you don't mind that Bob listens to stuff like Dean Martin and Tony Bennett while he cooks.

Can we officially compain about the suckiness of the hotel rooms now? :)

Not much as suck as the cost! But what the hell in once a year...

Hope I can squeeze some free days around that weekend, I'll have to start therapy with my boss now o_O

As far as I'm concerned, this is the perfect date. No More September 18-19, etc....

I had to miss PPV becaue my daughter was any minute around festival time. Don't get me wrong, she gets first priority. but with this date, I run no conflicts with parties, etc...

Good choice on the date Glenn!

Woooo hooo! I love this timing! :headbang:

I'm celebrating a huge birthday next August, and plan to spend it at the U.S. Open in New York. This gives me a little more time to get caught up in between vacations.

Plus, hopefully, we'll get to see the start of the fall colors. That's one thing I miss living in Arizona...

I am staying at the Super 8 as always.. The hotel is pretty crappy, but I don't really care.

I love the october dates! Being from South Florida I certainly will aprecciate the colder weather.. I hope it is nice.. :)
I loved when ProgPower was in november.. :)

Fuck these hotel prices,I'll either book the shithole known as the Super 8 again,or have my father get me an empoyee discount rate at the Nearest Holliday inn and do cab/marta(still cheaper)
