ledtool - kind of blue is one of the best jazz albums mankind has ever seen. it's a must. good choice.

After listening to it, I could tell why people call it "the jazz album for people who don't like jazz." It really is excellent... I'm quite glad that I bought it.

I haven't heard much by Deep Purple... and "Smoke On The Water" never really impressed me that much either.

Greatful Dead could probably be considered slightly more obscure... it seems sort of like a huge cult band. Deadheads!

yeah smoke on the water isnt that great of a song, but somehow it got vey popular. i suggest you try "child in time" by deep purple. thats a killer. and thats probably the second popular after smoke.

yes, i think so. the new deep purple singer was/is suckie suckie so i dont listen to much of their new stuff. but you should definitely hear "child in time."

yeah i heard is voice is very unwelcome withing true deep purple fans...i havnet heard it, but it could be ok.

no it's no OK. well, he isnt a bad vocalist, but it's hard to getting used to...same thing happened with judas priest.

I've never been a Judas Priest fan, so I wouldn't really know.... but isn't the replacement for Halford supposedly a whole lot like Halford vocally? An imitator? That's what I've heard, at least.

yes, indeed he was very much like halford (and that inspired the movie "rockstar") but of course, judas priest never reached the popularity they had with halford. nowadays, halford kix some serious ass. he's great.

I just meant Sabbath as a whole. Everytime I'm with a posse of metal fans and Sabbath is mentioned, I don't hear one person say 'Sabbath I don't like them at all'. Either everyone is a Sabbath fan or some of them gave into Sabbath peer pressure! lol
