First Confirmed Dates for JOP/CIIC/Manticora U.S. tour

This is a general statement so no one in particular needs to take direct offense--but if you feel guilty or feel like you must defend yourself then obviously this is aimed at you.

I don't care who you are or what experience you have in the music industry--I have a front row seat to the amount of work my dad is doing with this tour. I see the frustrations and disappointments he has to put up with while venue owners and promoters can't give a straight answer and have their asses on their shoulders about something that may or may not make them a good profit and I see the amount of bitching and moaning when fans can't get their way on a band coming to a city of their choice or a coast they live on. I tell ya what, you give a check to Intromental with the full amount due for one of these shows and see if YOU break even in the end and are able to bring a ProgPower style band back to your area. If anyone has a damn problem with it, you can get off your asses and either help or do it yourselves.

Thats all Im gonna say about it, you can deal with it or you can leave it alone.

Right on little brother, i too know what he has gone thru, as I have become a sort of sounding board, and it irks me to hear about the no responses to e-mails or phone messages from venues. And they wonder why they are left off tours, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

It holds back the industry in general. Most people in the metal industry are lazy as hell, including club owners, bands, fans, managers and promoters. And those that aren't, are held back by the lazy.

The problem with a 3 hour drive to shows in the US though is that it vastly increases the cost by at least $100 if you aren't the type that can drive till 2-3am.

But bitching to a promoter (especially one who works his ass off) about the show not being full US (note: even major bands don't always tour the entire US in one hop for various reasons), or a show cancelled in you area, is low class.

I appreciate the support by those who understand and the understanding by those who may not always be able to support. I certainly did not post my message yesterday looking for sympathy or a big pat on the back. I'm just trying to help everyone comprehend - now that we're down to the wire - the severity of supporting the live music scene; especially a scene that is balanced at times by such a fickle crowd. ...;) You know who you are.

All that being said, i would like to give kudos to one venue in particular: Pop's in Saint Louis. Those guys have been Johnny-on-the-spot since I first contacted them (actually they reached out to us first). They have been prompt and courteous in their responses to my queries. They have been flexible by taking the first stop on this tour on a Monday night no less! So anyone within a couple hours drive (not you Biffle! You live forever and away) of the venue should try their best to support this show. Keep in mind that we are attempting to set up in-store appearances where time allows us. And Saint Louis is one of those places. So watch for that info as well.

Thanks eveyone! And I'll be seeing you at ProgPower in just a few short weeks. :headbang:

Oh man an in-store appearance too!! I may have to stop drinking on weekdays to help save more money.

Our JOP hats off to Hoyt, Glenn and Claus for their over-the-top hard work putting this tour together and dealing with the endless games they have
to play to get their job done. They have exceeded on all fronts and regardless
of what happens we are more than satisfied with their genuine enthusiasm, love for all the bands and most of all...performing like true professionals.

The reality is that if 50% of the venues/promoters cared half as much about
putting bodies in the venue as Intromental (and the bands), music fans would have the opportunity to see tours like this more often.

We are trying to build a solid package for more dates, so if you can be there...then please join us! If not, be sure to spread the word to your
friends and let them know about this tour and many other's like it.

It's no cake-walk for the bands and crew, but this is the life we choose and
we will bust our ass's to be at every in-store, interview, meet-n-greet and whatever fan related promotional event possible. It's certainly not about money or fame...it's about delivery what we feel is quality music in a world full
of no-talent cookie cutter "bands" driven by big record company money...which is never on our list of priorities!

Cheers to all, and thanks for the support!

:kickass:

I am PROUD to support all bands involved and I am taking the day off of work to see the show in Yonkers, NY. Hopefully if this tour is even somewhat successful, we'll have more bands try their hand at tours such as this. See you in Oct. STAY METAL!!!

sorry for the delays, but I did not want to post anything until I was sure of it. And the replacement process has been a bit slow on behalf of the venue and promoter. But here we go...

The Thursday Oct 2nd date has been moved to Rooters - Milwaukee, WI. :headbang:

please see the original post for a complete updated list of venues and cities.

Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding. :)

No prob. Perhaps you'd like to revise the venue for the Addison date as well? :)

done - and I apologize, as I could have sworn I changed that one before.

everyone else...

As far as which venue in Milwaukee we were able to land this gig, it all had to do with timing, availability, and interest in the tour.

^ Thanks

And FYI to the Chicagoland peeps: Don't try to get advance tickets for the show in Schaumburg at the venue. They'll just tell you to go to Ticketmaster. They said they would have tickets at the door day of show only. At least this information is valid as of yesterday. That's all I know right now.
