Holy hell that's freakin awesome!!!!! I was going to have to miss the Chicago show, and now not only do I still get to go, but it's an hour and a half closer to me. I can't even tell you how happy I am right now! :headbang:

Just as an FYI, Rooters itself is located inside a bowling alley. It's not a bad club, but the closest thing I've ever seen to a show like this come there was Firehouse. I actually find it pretty surprising that they went for this. Surprising, but awesome!

And FYI to the Chicagoland peeps: Don't try to get advance tickets for the show in Schaumburg at the venue. They'll just tell you to go to Ticketmaster. They said they would have tickets at the door day of show only. At least this information is valid as of yesterday. That's all I know right now.

Bah. That's crap! I was going to call them today. Thanks for the heads up. I'm certainly not going to pay the TicketBastard fees when the venue is less than 10 miles away. I'd rather pay for more gas than put more money in TicketBastard's pocket.
 
So here we go again...

The venue in Philadelphia has cancelled the show due to a change in management. So JOP/CIIC/Manticora will not be playing Philly on Oct 7th. I apologize for the inconvenience, but trust me when I say no one - and I mean no one (sorry Kinder) was more disappointed than I was to get that news. :erk:

But I have spent the last few days scrambling to get the tour into another venue in the eastern PA region. And here's what I've done today...

Wednesday Oct 8th at The Sterling Hotel in Allentown PA

I should be making a special announcement in the next few days regarding the Oct 7th activities in Allentown - yes, you heard me right - Oct 7th activities with the bands. Stay tuned! :heh:

and yes, I realize Testament is playing the same night in Allentown at the Crocodile Rock. Let's just hope the Croc has their sound issues fixed by then. ;)
 
Another venue backs out? That's 3 venues so far that I've counted that have backed out of the show. We don't often hear about venue owners backing out. How very strange. The one by us actually closed though.

Congrats on getting those dates filled in elsewhere. :)
 
Cancellations can and often come from wanna-be promoters and
venues that either close their doors, or say they are getting their liqour license in time for the show and then call you last minute and say they can't make it happen!

All (3) of our cancellations have come from both and no fault of Intromental or the complete professionalism on their part....Hoyt and Glenn
have kicked ass!

We will all be ready....and that's what really matters in the end!

Like you stated, one venue closed their doors after we had the show booked with them (but before a legal, binding contract was signed). So we had to move it. Only two venues have 'backed out'.

The venue in Grand Rapids backed out because the local promoter who booked the show there did not fulfill his obligations (I'm guessing money). So they declined.

The venue in Philly had changed management - delaying obtaining their liquor license - since the local promoter brought them the show idea. The new management did not want the show because they were worried they would not get the liquor license in time. Liquor = money.

All three promoters/venues were sent contracts in a timely manner, but then hesitated until it was too late.

Such is the nature of this business I am finding out: Everyone wants to be 'involved'. But when it comes down to brass tactics, no one wants to be held accountable for the work they do (or don't do, as in the cases above).

Argh....after my PPUSA weekend, my wife pulled rank on me and wouldn't let me out of the house (plus she was sick and needed....attention). Sorry I couldn't make the Chicago show last night. Equally interested in a follow up....

We were looking for you man.

The Chicago show was great. We called the venue the day before to ask when the show started. They said, "Sometime between 8 and 9." WTF? They don't even know when the show is going to start? We showed around 8 and just missed the local act. The venue is much improved since the last time I was there. It's still small, but they now have a bar and about a 2' high stage and a tiny little room for the sound guy.

Manticora sounded really good last night IMO. Their set was pretty short though. CIIC and JOP both sounded great. They played great. No technical problems that I could see. We missed CIIC on Wednesday of PP, so it was great to get to see them. Jon mentioned that there were about 150 people in STL. He said something that made me think the crowd in Chicago was smaller. I would have guessed around 200 people, maybe a bit more. It was really fun though. Jon was very interactive and as goofy as ever. I think by the end of the show he was drunk. Some guy kept buying him glasses of booze. Whatever it was, it was strong stuff based on Jon's reaction. I think he had three of them during the set. His performance was still damn good though.

All in all, I'm glad we went. It was great to see them up close and all three bands put on good shows.
