Gamma Ray - Chicago 2-3-11

I called the venue around 4pm today and they said it was still on.

I asked about parking and as of 4pm there was still more than 2 inches of snow around on the streets so the snow parking restriction was still in effect. Of course they were expecting this to be resolved by tomorrow night, but be prepared if it is not.

Most metra trains are running normal except 4 lines, so if you are planning on Metra keep an eye out.

I'm hoping to drive down and park in the loop and cab over as well. Hopefully the parking garages are open. Many businesses are still going to be closed. CPS is closing schools again too.

did they confirm that Gamma Ray would be there?

also I like the cab idea...where is a good place to park?

Oi, this sounds like it could be a mess!!!

modernwizardry - I got your messages. I will let you know what I decide.
I don't know yet if I go if I will be heading from work or from home, which is in Lombard.
I think coming out by you would place me going south though.

Finally finished all my shoveling. To get rid of this much snow with just a shovel and no snowblower really, REALLY sucks! Tomorrow I'll probably be a lazy ass and sleep in and take it easy, so I can rest up for the concert. I sure hope it goes on. I most definitely will be doing Metra as usual.

Yeah theres no way I can get there as I walk to the train and its 8 blocks through sidestreets. Just not worth the hassle and the fact that its going to be in the negatives. Have fun.

Oh sure...

Connecticut 4 x 19 Chicago.

Why don't you admit you *pop* drinkers are the #1 thread-hijackers in the forum?

Don't mess with the pop drinkers, we have ways of making you hurt! :heh:

I actually put bacon, potato sticks, mayo, onions and a *special* hot dog sauce. Oh, and I almost forgot: Panini-press it! :)

You people need to learn how to make a hot dog.

hot dog sauce? And you call US weird!!!??????

That's nothing. I purposely didn't want to go with our "full" Brazilian hot dog, but some of you peeps would get a little intimidated...

If your hotdog needs a brazilian, you have more problems than I need to know about....Intimidated? beans & Weenies....

Insert "'full' Brazillian hot dog" innuendo, here.

Please see above....

Lou Malnati's Pizza > ANY Chicago food!!!!

Anyhow, I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried about the weather's potential impact on this gig.

Gino's East > Lou's definitely my #1 & 2 pizza choices though...

So were you the one customer who preferred Crystal Pepsi and Coke II?

* I * liked Coke II.....:mad:

asides from calling the club you also may want to check out MPShows twitter account. They seem to update often so if there is issues today with the show they may post something before coming all the way to the city. Hopefully I will see most of you there tonight.

Well, I took the 88 and the 294 into work today, and both were very clear.
I do feel a lot better about it, after being on the roads this morning.

I did hear though that O'Hare has canceled 1,000 flights for today.
I am not sure if that basically means it's a wash of yesterday's 1,000 cancelations.

What I do worry though is that while the show itself might go on, Gamma Ray may not make it.

I miss original pre 1985/84 Coke. Liked seeing the Coke II exhibit when I was in Atlanta.
