Who here went to The Astonishing shows in Durham and Charlotte, NC? How were the shows and how was attendance? Did Lizzy appear on the shows? I was hoping to go and finances wouldn't allow it. Hoping crowds were strong enough for DT to consider coming back.
The new Allen/Lande was the same way, no friggin' lyrics in the booklet. I have searched high & low for the actual lyrics, some songs have videos with the lyrics & the other ones are prime candidates for MisHeard Lyrics fame. Any help with this or the Pathosray lyrics would be awesome.
You made wonderful points with why you don't do it Glenn. I was just curious as to if it had ever crossed your mind. I agreed with the being there to get the experience & feel the electricity most. I like the fact you stay old school & stick to your guns. It's the main reason PPUSA is what it...
I went to one show there in 2006 & I saw Stratovarius there. Awesome, awesome show & got to meet everyone from the bank except Tolkki. Love the intimacy of the venue & how easy it was to get to. The night before I was @ 9:30 in DC to see Dragonforce so it was an awesome metal weekend for me & my...
Hey Glenn, have you ever thought about having PPUSA aired on AXS TV or iPPV? I think it'd be a great way to bring more fans to this genre & also give ppl a chance to see it who can't make it to Atlanta. I know there are production costs, servers & bandwidth, etc. But I think it'd be worth it to...
I just had another idea for a headliner for ProgPower that would be killer, maybe next year have Demons & Wizards headline with Allen/Lande, although I do believe Jorn & Glenn has issues if my memory serves me correctly.
Glenn, I was wondering what your opinion was of a few bands & what are the chances of booking them for PPUSA? The first band that immediately comes to mind is Wintersun, I think this would be a major booking for the festival. There is also Grave Digger, Manowar, Falconer, Doro, Cellador, ReVamp...
Again, no Falconer, what a surprise!! Would someone please explain if it has been tried to bring them over or does Falconer just refuse to do this festival? Also I think 2 headliners that would kick ass is Doro & Tarja. Bands I'd like to see that haven't done this festival are Grave Digger...
Just checked out the Amos' Southend website and they have Porcupine Tree coming 4 days after Firehouse on April 28th. No other bands mentioned with them as openers. Finally a band worth 2 squirrel farts is coming!!!!!
What happened to the Nov. 20th Raleigh date? I know Leaves' Eyes is doing a European Fesitval thing around that time. Have they rescheduled the US tour?
OK, Glenn, here's some prog. Ivory Tower, Everon, Beardfish, bring Evergrey back, or Symphony X even. Mastodon, Ayeron, Anubius Gate, Zero Hour, Vanden Plas, Vanishing Point, Twilight Symphony, Time Machine, etc. Enough prog for you now.
ProgPower 11 should have Grave Digger and Manowar headline, then Falconer, Rhapsody of Fire, Leaves' Eyes, Mystic Prophecy, Delain, Operatika, Korpiklaani, Alestorm, Freedom Call and Axenstar. Here is how it would go down:
Friday Night:
Grave Digger
Rhapsody of Fire
Leaves' Eyes...
FINALLY DREAM THEATER WILL COME TO NC!!!!
Asheville is cool, but I am hoping for something maybe in Charlotte or Winston-Salem/Greensboro as far as driving distance. They have 2 open dates after Asheville so who knows. Grady Cole in Charlotte would work or LJVMC Annex in Winston or War...
Glenn is like any promoter, whether it's concerts, boxing, wrestling, or even movie studios casting a movie, he has to figure out what acts he can bring in that will SELL TICKETS!!!! In my opinion, PPX could be a hell of a lot better as far as who I prefer to see and who he has, but I don't know...
