Other good ones that are solid 8/10s or need more listens:

NASHEIM - Solens Vemod (wanted to stick this beside DT to piss Erik off)
THE PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART - Days Of Abandon

Still pumped about:

KAYO DOT's darkwave album
KANYE WEST (on a winning streak of 80s Iron Maiden proportions)

NOKTURNAL MORTUM
PANDA BEAR Meets The Grim Reaper
DEVIN TOWNSEND - Ziltoid 2 (double album)

Disappointments I'll Return To Eventually:

AGALLOCH - The Serpent And The Sphere
SHABAZZ PALACES - Lese Majesty

Damnit, Dick. "A Sunny Day in Glasgow" is great, I quite appreciate the approach they are taking. Damn you for unearthing music I actually like.

I made it a minute and a half into that Glasgow shit. :erk:

AOTY thus far is probably Dead Congregation's. :kickass:

Edit - I think a "dream pop" ad came up whilst listening to that tune and made it sound like a mish mash of shit. Let me try again.

Edit part deux - Nah, wasn't a pop up.

Yeah, just stick to what you're comfortable with...

Has no one else listened to the new Swans album???

I haven't heard the new Swans yet. I'll get it eventually. The new Agalloch is good, not great, but that's fine.

The new Nasheim is fucking incredible. And that is my last post about it so as not to make Erik uncomfortable.

I adore the first Dead Congregation, but I'm not in a rush to pick up the new one. I'm still absorbing the debut.

2014 is the year in which I finally realized how amazing Type O Negative's "new" album is. So I say that counts.

Not too much that anybody around these parts would be interested in.

Lantlos, embarrassingly. Probably Ogre after that tied with Teitanblood and Avichi

Need to listen to that Grand Magus album.

im trying with swans. i really am. but the new one, seer and father guide me up a rope just fail to capture my interest. just make great annihilator part 2, or an entire album in the vein of blood promise and call it a career.

fuck that glasgow shit. sound like something to be played at the end of sixteen candles or some other teen movie

other than a few gooduns, this year sucks

It was always going to be hard to follow up the myriad of superb offerings 2013 gave us.

I'm waiting to be in the proper mood/state of mind to give the new Nasheim a proper evaluation. I haven't really been listening to much metal lately. It'll come around again as it's all cyclical. Maybe once Winter comes around, then I'll grab it.

 I'm blasting this song and picturing teenyboppers dancing at a party to glitchy shoegaze as the credits roll. Fuckin' dying here

Life in J-world!

Schammasch - Contradiction
Noneuclid - Metatheosis
Behemoth - The Satanist

Twilight - III: Beneath Trident's Tomb
Triptykon - Melana Chasmata

This year has been pretty scarce for albums that have genuinely been interesting, sadly. Stand out albums thus far

Dead Congregation "Promulgation of the Fall"
Mutilation Rites "Harbinger"
Panopticon "Roads to the North"
Lana Del Ray "Ultraviolence"
Impaled Nazarene "Vigorous and Liberating Death" (nice return to proper Imp Naz form here)
Trap Them "Blissfucker"
Cormorant "Earth Diver"
Nasheim "Solens Vemod"
Nux Vomica "Nux Vomica"

Need to spend more time with:
Boris "Noise"
Vallenfyre "Splinters"
Goatwhore "Constricting Rage of the Merciless"
