that mantis chased me around a truck. anyone else like insects?

what, no pictures?

here's another insect of honorary mentionings

KoreanLittleRedDragonfly_J01-Rasing_tail-s160.jpg

I did not take that picture, but several individuals of a species similar to the one shown frequent my garden during spring, presumably in search of mates or good eating. I observed one such dragonfly exhibit the same tail lifting mannerism from atop one of my delphiniums. It perched on a bud, which was cool to see because a delphinium's buds are shaped in a way that could be seen as complementary to the dragonflies' perchings. The dragonfly allowed me to touch its wings, no kidding. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of the event, but I'm ready for this coming spring...

The only insect I like is the SA one, that thing is horrible^^ *shudders*

Mantis(es?) are generally pretty curious and friendly insects -- no reason to squish them. I was making a poor pun on the SA song; although I'm not sure how many other meanings there are for insect, I'm almost certain the song is not about actual insects. Hence, my non-literal translation of what I assume was a non-literal
(perhaps metaphorical) usage employed the word's literal meaning. *scratches head*

hey Ojeblikket, i'm assuming you're an Entomologist... or atleast really really into these disgusting little creatures to actually open a topic about them in a Spiral Architect Forum !!! (LOL)

by the way, I really loathe digusting little insects..... big ones too !!EEEWWW !!! :D

That picture's amazing. Even though I like hummingbirds better than those little buggers...

I like spiders and scorpions a lot, but they're not insects. I had about 20 scorpions in my house at one point.

neither are centipedes, nor even sowbugs true insects. Although, depending on the source, the definition is inclusive of spiders, ticks, and even people.

I'm not certain but I think dictionaries include common corruptions as a policy.

I also used to catch scorpions as a kid. Sadly, I tortured them.

Not techniqually a insect but a really creepy crawling thing with exoskeleton.

That Giant Weta thing is pretty creepy too.

By the way, for a really good time be sure to get your hands on this video
