This year's select 550+ photos

awesome pictures, as always. I love how they capture the vibe of the performance, whther it was personal (D.C Cooper) or Energetic (Symphorce/Angra). The B&W is awesome too. Nothing but praises from me!

He is defending his "Fan of the Year" crown quite well.

The sign of a singer who looks like he hates what he is doing and doesn't want to be there:err:

Yeah, looks like the crowd really didn't care for Roy's stage presence either... The whole set went over like a fart in a two man submarine. I just don't see what is so special about these guys.

NOT!

It was sarcasm directed at another poster who I believe made that point about Roy.

It was sarcasm and so are my comments above. Nightwish58 is a big Conception fan.

The comment we're referring to was the most stupid comment I have heard anyone make on this forum, and there have been more than a few of those over the years.

Enough with all this worship! I screw up plenty, but I just don't let you see it! Thanks for all the positive feedback. :)

p.s. I love esa's soundcheck pics above. I had to put the camera down and just jam. The riffs took me over like a seizure and I was helpless to stop myself. I don't remember for certain, but I think the song was, "Roll the Fire".

Yeah, I agree. Watching Todd during Conception's sound check was awesome! He air guitar'd with an unmatched fervor and I think Tore even upped his game based on Todd's stage moves! In fact, if a camera made musical sense in Conception's music I thought they might have offered him a position in the band! ;)

Great pics Todd! Its great to see a photog getting so into what he is capturing. My wife is a portrait photographer and after hearing many glowing reviews of the Mark II (yours weighing heavily) we went out and got one a week after progpower. ;)

You will love that camera! I don't have one penny of regret splurging for it. :loco:

Make sure to shoot RAW if you're not doing so already. I process all my photos in Adobe Camera RAW/Photoshop. It gives you some awesome control to fine-tune your exposure and color balance.

I'll be getting a 5D to back up my 1D Mark II later this month, so you will probably see me with two camera bodies around my neck next year. One with a wide prime (35 mm) and another with a longer prime (85 mm).

Cool Joel. Now you can be the "Official" Prog Power Crew Photographer. :D

I won't tell you how many didn't make the cut! :guh:

well, i know how much i pics i took at PP Europe two weeks ago. I'm pretty sure that's even half the number of shots you made...:D

Great stuff Todd, two questions tho...a lot of b&w, you prefer that over colour or is it the lightconditions on stage that forced you to show them in b&w...and i noticed that most of the pics have a lot of black in the background, less lights on stage then there were last year?

I didn't notice at the show, but after looking at those pictures, it is plain to me that Circus Maximus' guitar player is Boromir.

Here's my favorite picture so far:

This is my second favorite:
