Showcase Replacement?

PoS seems to best fit:
1. Should have visas
2. A proggier band to substitute for a missing prog band
3. Bigger name like Vanden Plas, which will help financially. Ideally the substitute band needs to be a bigger draw worthy enough to sub for VP. Especially since the Showcase tickets only recently went on sale and I'm sure a nice name will boost sales.

Some bigger US based bands that I feel help get tickets sold:

1. Cynic (and bring back Sean Malone)
2. Kamelot
3. King's X
4. Symphony X

Icarus Witch would be a nice addition though I don't think they quite touch the Vanden Plas level, so it wouldn't be an adequate replacement.

Tempest Reign would be cool considering Brent Smedley from IE is their drummer, but again don't think they can touch VP yet.

Nevermore would just be too fuckin cool and perfect.

Testament would be perfect as well, though I don't think they'd settle for the spot unless they were the headliner but I don't know.

Personally I could do without Helstar...I just can't get into them at all, I'd rather have Vicious Rumors than Helstar.

Aren't Pagan's Mind touring with Stratovarius right after the fest. I realize they may be too big of a name for the showcase, but their visas are already good and they are coming to the US anyways. Plus that would rule since I was in Iraq when they headlined the fest last time...

Already thought this too. Stratovarius is in Japan the weekend of the fest and there first US show is the following week. Would have been a nice replacement.

Edguy on the other hand has an off date on the 10th, and hasn't played a show appealing to their "power metal fans" in how long now?

Being selfish here and thinking of what I personaly would like to see (not thinking of overall "replacement" level matching for VP):

For a Prog band: I'd like to see Redemption. I have yet to see them live. Possibly Titan Force as well, but I am very biased on this choice.

For a Power band: Jag Panzer. Of course, I'm biased on this one as well. I'd really like to see them perform in Atlanta. Plus they are very cool guys. And yes, they are still active.

Pagan's mind is already playing the festival unless there is something else major i missed

I was so impressed I bought a Perpetual Flame t-shirt. With Yngwie pouting and all!

I saw some people proposing Malmsteen as a replacement for either the showcase or the main event. I was hesitant because his performance with G3 left me absolutely defrauded. But if you say that now with Tim he's a fine act to see, I'll take your word for it.

I'm going to get flamed for this but...

Watchtower.

Edit: Looks like Crooks and I are on the same wavelength. Zero Hour was my obvious first choice but it's just not going to be possible, sadly. :(

Lethal anyone? This is from April of this year:

I'd love to hear Mallicoat singing live - never have gotten the chance!
