Hello folks, Long time I have not posted on this forum. I have been living in Barcelona, Spain, for over two years now and I am starting to look for a house to buy as I intend to stay here. I still have fond memories of ProgPower (I attendend PP II, III and IV) and I would love to return, but...

    Within Temptation

I saw Within Temptation live last night in Barcelona and I must admit that they put up a great show. I am not a big fan of them, but their live delivery is a close to perfect as possible. Everything from the sound to the stage show was prefect...they used a backscreen were they projected videos...

    Saw Manticora last Friday

Hello people, just wanted to say that I saw Manticora last Friday opening up for Angra here in Barcelona. They put up a very good show with lots of energy, with the only downside being the sound which, although not bad, could have been better. They played for 40 minutes or so and covered...

What do you think of these bands...

I am just curious what some of you think of the following bands which rarely or never get mentioned on this forum: Diablo: Melodic death metal from Finland. Their last album "Eternium" is one of my favorite metal albums in recent years and I always keep going back to it for some more...

Journalist insulting Dimebag and Metal fans

I just read this piece of shit article (off www.powermetal.de) and felt I had to post it here so that we can tell this ignorant cunt what we think of it. Not only does he insult metal in general, but he even talks bad about Dimebag. He is lucky I live on the other side of the Atlantic or else...

    Just saw Adagio...

One of the bands I was pissed to miss this year at ProgPower (first ProgPower I did not go to) ws Adagio...but today I saw them here in Barcelona and they put on a great show even though there were only about 100 people at the venue. Stephan Forte is truly an animal on guitar, and the est of the...

    Just bought my Nightwish ticket

Just bought my Nightwish ticket for their concert here in Barcelona with Sonata Arctica opening. They will play in a big venue and I am expecting a full-house. Not their biggest fan, but I did enjoy their show at PP IV, so it will be second time I see them. November will kick my ass since there...

    Persuader "Evolution Purgatory"

What a killer album!!!! Sounds just like Blind Guardian during the "Tales From the Twilight" and "Somewhere Far Beyond" era. Even the singer sounds very similar to Hansi. Definitely one of the highlights of 2004!!!! A must for any power metal fan! :worship:

Strongest ProgPower ever at the opening slots!

This has got to be the strongest ProgPower ever in terms of openers. Adagio: One of best neoclassical prog-power symphonic metal bands around. The strongest competition for Symphony X in that department. Into Eternity: By far the best odd band ever at ProgPower (Mercenary was good, but I...

Brainstorm added to BW&BK Fest in Cleveland!

Now I am pissed I can't go! Grave Digger, Brainstorm, and Primal Fear on same festival! Oh well... There is a good chace that I will go to Wacken this year and all three bands are confirmed for that festival. No doubt that BW&BK is the second best festival in US after ProgPower.

    DGM for ProgPower IV!!!

I think DGM is one of the most underrated prog metal bands out there nowadays. Their last two albums - Dreamland and Hidden Places - are awesome. They have the full package: great songs, great musicians, and a great mix of prog and power metal (in the veins of Symphony X). I think they would...

    Grave Digger at BW&BK Festival

noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! I just found out Grave Digger will be playing at this year's BWBK Fest in Cleveland. I went there last year and had a good time, but won't be in US during this year's edition. I've been waiting to see Grave Digger for many years and now they will play in US and I won't...

    Brainstorm at PPV

Brainstorm would make a great 3rd slot band at PPV! They have released four strong albums in a row and judging by the crowd's reaction everytime they played Brainstorm over the PA at PPIV (including the guy that gave us a show impersonating Andy B. Franck) I think that they would be a fairly...
