I was just thinking, how friggen trippy is it that we are at 7 already, my god how does time fly.. I remember just joining Seismic Radio and the Glenn announced that he was putting together a USA edition of Prog Power, we were all pretty excited by that news then as you can all well imagine. only 350 Plus of us at that event and I flew out only knowing the Zero Hour guys and John H, not know what was going to happen. Well 5 years later and I can honestly say I have made some pretty great friendships that I am sure will last a long time...

So I would like to see how many of us still come to the website, so this is a poll of sorts.. Shout it out!!!

I'm one of the originals whose made it to all of the Prog Powers. I'm from Illinois, so the trip to PP1 was a short one for me. I think I found out about the show in Lansing from the Perpetual Motion board, and actually spread the word to several folks who are now regulars at the Atlanta PP's. Time sure does fly.

I missed the first (didn't even know about it), but have not missed 1 since and do not plan on missing one in the near future. It is by far, the most anticpated weekend of the year for me. I may have to hit up PP UK with that stellar lineup!!! I just wish it were a 2 day even like PP USA...

You do realise all us fuckin n00b's are gonna rag on you now... :D

It sucks cuz I look at the roster from the first two PP's, and I wanna rip my own ears off for not being "in the know" when they happened!

But seriously, I give praise to you guys for being this faithful all these years. That's a fan base!!!

:headbang:

I went to II with mosquito when the only song from the entire genre I knew was Blind Guardian - the Lord of the Rings, lol. I look back at that now and I'm like: omgah, I prepartied with Evergrey and escorted the Nighingale guys through atlanta... and I didn't even know who they were. I was such a noob. I still am... but at least I know who they are now, :p

Though I rarely post, I do check in almost every day. I wouldn't dream of not going, even Katrina couldn't stop us last year. PP1 was one of the best lineups ever for any show, and while the venue was small, the people were, (and still are), great. Troy

I was definitely in attendence at PP1. It was actually Symphony X playing that brought the show to my attention. I feel pretty lucky that PP1 was in Chicago, because at the time I wouldnt have been able to make it out to Atlanta.

It's funny to look back and compare the two venues: JJ Kelly's vs Earthlink. I could never imagine JJ Kelly's hosting this show anymore...

I was there! ;) How about this , I was at the dinner after the last Powermad festival in Baltimore (Towson) where Glenn announced to about 15 or so people that he was thinking about doing the fest. Crazy!

Evergrey/Pain of Salvation just blew me away that weekend. 2 amazing performances.

PP1 is also where I met you Bear! ;)

Cheers!

Man, time flies. I remember all the PPs...some rather vaguely ;) Oddly enough, I wore my PP I shirt yesterday! Great stuff, and great memories...here's to many more in the future! :kickass:

I know this is like a "people who attended progpower 1 ONLY" type thread but why start following the rules now? :loco:

My parents went to PP1 (CAUSE THEY ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!) and I was like WHAT? You guys are crazy....especially when my mom wouldn't shut up about it afterwards, haha. I attended 2 and have been every year since ....guess I'm CRAZY too :)

I was there.....and also at the first ProgPower Europe in Tilburg at the 013.

Both shows ruled. I remember after PoS's set at PPUSA I, there were grown men* crying in the front row. Wearing Symphony X t-shirts. :yow: One of the Top 5 performances I've ever seen.
