70000 TONS OF METAL CRUISE

I think what these fake posters fail to realize is, their thoughts and opinions are dismissed in less time than it takes them to sign up here at UM. If a poster has less than 100 posts and is pimping a festival, band, etc., I just ignore them. I suspect most of the regulars do. I think they tend to create more animosity than momentum. It seems they fail to appreciate the "community" aspect of these forums.

I've said it before and I'll reiterate... I'd rather support the scene and support Triton.

I totally agree with this.
...these silly fake posts rub me the wrong way.
..These fake posters that only swing by to update the roster, etc. get the fuck on my nerves.
and this.

I support the scene because of the dedication, and even sacrafice of all those involved who do the same. Respect for each other, the musicians and the community in general is paramount, to me.

As someone with less than 100 posts I find that disheartening. Not that I disagree because I completely understand where you are coming from for this. It seems like some of us just pop up and in to spout off about something. On the other hand you have people who read the forums for a while, joined like 6 months later and only post sometimes (I just like to read the posts here I find them for the most part informed and interesting).

As far as the cruises go, I would think something more intimate would always out weigh the masses but that is personal opinion and I'm a huge small venue lover. I'm also with the people who've espoused spending moeny on skiing instead. One thing I am interested in is hearing how the sound quality is for these performances. The engineering aspect of these ventures should be interesting.

Whoa, that's not what he said.

I think that part was significant. (I don't normally speak for anyone else, but since I agreed with him... ;) )
Seriously, occasional posters are totally cool, it's just what they come to say here that matters.

Hehe my apologies, wasn't even meant to be taken as a negative - I guess that's what happens when you take quick glances at the forums while at work (and not doing work while reading the forum):saint:

this is turning out to be better than expected. Imagine running into Simmone while she's taking a tan :saint:

anyhow, like someone mentioned, I wish they would just release the lineup before I get any tickets. I know it's a year away and a lot of things can happen in the mean time (i.e. bands cancelling, etc) But i don't think that most festivals release tickets before the majority of the lineup is revealed.

@Metal Vixen, I believe tickets are already on sale for this :)

No worries. It's always a positive when people join the forum and start contributing. And I recognize there are those with accounts who prefer to lurk. And just to clarify, I don't simply dismiss the opinions of those with less than 100 posts. However, if someone who has 8 posts to their name and starts pimping some bad, especially one who doesn't really fit here, or a festival, it raises a red flag.

I just like talking about metal and plenty of festivals because I go to them (and not limit myself to ProgPower, although I've been to seven of the ten including the first one in Chicago) and 70000 tons of metal is worthy of discussion, not cuz I'm pimping their product. Heck I don't even know if I'm going to be able to go, but sometimes people only have time to be on one board and not cruising all over the internet looking for rock festivals that might be good.

Biggest issue I have with this fest is you have to buy a cabin at a time. Not just a ticket. So, whom do I know around here that would drop that kind of coin. No one personally.

I'm just looking to go as cheap as possible, and get one of the four bedroom interior rooms and split it four ways, or whatever. I mean really most of the time you won't be there anyway with metal all day long, and bars to drink in if thats your thing. I just want to be able to get some sleep when I finally crash to recoup and do it again the next day!

Anyone intrested in splitting a cabin?

ok. so, let me get this straight.

its $666 for the cheapest 4 bedrooms room right?
with the 10% for registration it will be down to $600. right?

and that will get me by? or are there any other fee's?

ok, so $666 is for a 4 bedroom room? and the $249 is for each person?

in that case, it will be $666/4 = 166.5 for the room for 4 people + $249 per person = $415.50 total per person

and I correct?

No, its per person, as far as I know. I've been watching this carefully. I don't imagine there is anyway possible for them to offer all that for the price you suggest. It will be interesting to see if this is successful or not. I hope so, cuz it seems pretty damn cool.

Nope, it's $666 + $249 per person, so times that by four for the cheapest cabin. You have to book a cabin at a time, 25% up front, then on a payment plan through the year with a final payment in October. That's the cheapest way to do it and spread it out.

However if you prepay up front for the whole cabin you get 15% off. Thats still like $3400 at one time. I really want to go, but I can't afford a whole room layout like that. I need to find some serious metal heads who want to go to something that I am guessing will be the equivalent of a European metal festival.

Whatever.....
Can we go back to discussion Simone tanning???????????

That's a lot more interesting than hearing hairy old men talk about sharing a cabin.
