    Regarding the heat/air

We were actually getting quite cold on Thursday night towards the end of the show. We were sitting about halfway up. So we brought jackets with us the other nights in case it got cold again.

    Bands you've discovered this weekend?

Me too. We had to buy a CD of them the next day. It was so much fun.

    Pics from crew jam?

Thanks for fulfilling my bet that someone would do a Maiden song! I loved it.

    Cheers and Jeers Thread

Hehe, I'm not from Boston originally, I just moved there. Sorry for the confusion. I am English - not very much tipping done over there.

    Cheers and Jeers Thread

Too right. She stood there picking her nails or something while people were lining up at the bar. So I didn't tip her, and avoided her after that. (Ok, where I come from it is not normal to tip bar staff, but I have learned...)

    Shockopera

Yes, I am pleasantly surprised by this one, it will get some more listening. When I saw that it was a demo on a burned CDR I was a bit dubious, but it actually sounds as good as, if not better than, many CDs I have bought. (The fake English accent makes me smirk a little though).

The (un)Official Pagan's Mind Worship Thread

My wife has always been completely "meh" about Pagan's Mind, but after the show she said "I guess they were pretty good". High praise ;-)

    all Setlist

The first attempt at 'The Final Countdown' had keyboards played by the guy from After Forever, but Ronny from PM took them over for the second time. Various people came on stage to shout 'Youth Gone Wild!' Nick van Dyk joined in on guitar for 'The Real Thing', and the rest of Redemption did...

Mike's Dubious PP VIII Awards (x-post)

Yup, that was a moment that made me go Wow! (What a show-off!)

More bad news about VP (unconfirmed)

It does make it more difficult for them to come back - they will have to get full visas cleared before they can come in again. (I'm assuming that they tried to enter on visa waiver this time, but that is just my guess). On the other hand there is no 'seven years' rule, I don't know where they...

Great Food Place For Anyone Around Center Stage On Friday!

My wife got us calzones from Vespucci's on Friday night, and they certainly hit the spot. Subway missed out by closing too early.

    Message from Vanden Plas

In my experience the airport staff have never asked whether I had the right papers to enter the US. Most Europeans are allowed in on 'visa waiver', so I guess they assume people with a European passport will be ok. Last time I entered the US the checkin woman did flick through my passport and...

    Enough of Jon Oliva already

I'm a Threshold fan, and have listened to their CDs a lot, and know the stuff. So when their set on Saturday was rather 'muddy' due to the sound mix, my memory filled in the blanks, and I knew what was going on. That doesn't work for bands that I'm not familiar with - for example Virgin Steele's...

    Thank You from the Freaks!

We had not heard of Freak Kitchen before (sorry!) but your set was so much fun that we went and bought one of your CDs the next day :-)

    Super 8

We didn't notice any bugs, thankfully, but we were pretty upset with the breakfast. Stale coffee, the only cereal was one so sweet it made my mouth hurt, and an overflowing trash can that no-one seemed to care about.
