SOMEONE NEEDS TO EXPOSE ZANE (CDINZANE)

Ken stopped because (a) he doesn't make enough money off the festival to justify the business expense and (b) he wants to enjoy the festival as an attendee. I can't blame him, and I wouldn't expect to see him back as a vendor.

Change in plans! New Wed night show announced...

Glenn, If it's upstairs, can we again get the back room for gold badgers only like the pre-party was a few years ago? That would be kick-ass. Kyle

    ProgPower USA IX Dates

Losing the Fairfield 3 years ago was bad enough. I hope more hotels pop up in the I85 corridor as it develops further.

    ProgPower USA Picture posting

Exactly right. Most of the people I saw with digital cameras (those without VIP badges, I mean) had the good sense to turn off the screen to avoid attracting attention. I still watched them for a bit to make sure they weren't recording video, and in no case did I see any video being recorded...

    More Pre-Party info

If nothing else, the far left end of the concourse past the bathrooms (where most of the signings occur) could be roped off for GB members only, and the far left entrance to the ampitheather closed. It wouldn't be as good ast the separate room last year or at the Riviera, but it's better than...

    Pre-Party Age Limit

Why should the drinkers be stuck with the smokers? :) While my drinking a beer doesn't pour alcohol down someone else's throat, the analogy doesn't work for smoking. FWIW, the generally-respected requirement for smokers to leave the ampitheater to smoke is one of the many small things that I...

    Pre Show Dinner?

I will be there as well. I'm guessing it won't be too hard to get seated as long as we get there at or before 5, and not at 5:30 when the post-work crowd rolls in.

Hopefully a new seating arrangement this year? (all seating threads merged..ENOUGH...

Agreed, but I didn't see anyone doing that: one person saving an entire row would be practically impossible. In our group, ~4 of us get to the door early and save one row of 10 seats. When the bands are on, all of those seats are filled, modulo bathroom breaks, etc. I fail to see how this...

Hopefully a new seating arrangement this year? (all seating threads merged..ENOUGH...

I said it on PM:X after PPVI, and I'll say it again: I get to the door two hours early specifically so a few friends and I can get what are in our opinion the best seats in the venue, a few rows behind the sound board. A few of us hold about 10 seats. If you don't like it and you have a gold...

    The mosh pit debate.....

IMO, this is not a death metal festival. If you want to mosh, find another outlet. ProgPower is about appreciation of progressive and power metal, not about unfettered aggression. Personally, I'm not a floor man anyway, so I'm happy to sit and headbang in my seat; but I know lots of people...

A truly special festival for me....

I think it's pretty awesome how you were able to help this kid's dream come true. During a week where all of us (myself included) were bitching about hotel rooms and other random shit, it's humbling to see it all put into perspective. Kudos.

The Official Glenn Harveston Thank You Thread!

As usual, I had a great time and have Glenn to thank for it. This festival keeps me sane for at least 8 months....until I start counting down the days for it to begin again. Thanks, Glenn, and get some well-deserved rest. Cheers, Kyle

    Stratovarius Setlist Poll Online

Any Stratovarius set lacking The Abyss of Your Eyes is going to be a huge disappointment. Personally, I'd also like to hear Twilight Symphony. The rendition on Visions of Europe was incredible. Cheers, Kyle

Best band Ever at Any Prog Power?

So, I guess I was most *excited* to see Gamma Ray, who (in spite of the extended HMU) just rocked. However, I'd give "best performance" either to Edguy, whose set was amazing, or to Symphony X from PP2. The reason for SyX is that I was not a huge fan of their music going into that...
