Does anyone besides me still listen to albums in their entirety? If so, just curious to what you all have been playing lately. Here are mine from the last few days:

In Flames - Colony
In Flames - Clayman
In Flames - The Tokyo Showdown
In Flames - Reroute To Remain
Slayer - World Painted Blood

EDIT: Just noticed the hideous misuse of "too" Sorry, I know better.

I love listening to whole albums. I spent last weekend painting my parent's garage and I got the chance to listen to some of my favorites:

Hibria - Defying the Rules (listened to this one twice)
Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of Seventh Sun
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous
Kiuas - Reformation
Rush - All the World's a Stage
James Labrie - Elements of Persuasion
Saxon- The Inner Sanctum
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf

I also had some mix Cds of progpower bands Kamelot, Tarot, Stormwarrior, TYR, Illusion Suite, and Seventh Wonder that I was jamming inbetween.

This morning I got through Thin Lizzy - Vagabonds of the Western World on the way to work...another great album.

The last 5 cds in my player at home were:

1) Triosphere - The Road Less Travelled
2) Leather - Shockwaves
3) Gamma Ray - Land Of The Free
4) Delain - April Rain
5) UFO - Strangers In The Night

In the car I have the new Accept and Chickenfoot.......

Hmm, I pretty much only listen to whole CDs in my car, thanks to my iPod (or occasionally, my CD changer)....

  • Mortiis, The Smell of Rain
  • Abigail Williams, In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns*
  • Ozric Tentacles, Live at Sunrise Festival
  • Equilibrium, Rekreatur
  • Epica, Consign to Oblivion
  • Ayreon, Into the Electric Castle
  • Keep of Kalessin, Reptilian

---
* this is also the first album on my iPod alphabetically, so it tends to start up often if I mistakenly press "play" a lot. :)

Of course. I mostly listen to albums (not always finishing what I start). It's rare that I skip a song.

Last few:
Dyonisis - Dyonisis
Mantus - Requiem

and currently:
Slough Feg - Twilight of the Idols

And I'll start listening to more of the ProgPower bands albums this week.

My last albums:

Wizards - The Black Knight
DGM - Frame
Delain - April Rain
Fracture - Dominate and Overload
Blind Guardian - At The Edge of Time

Yesterday:
Morbid Angel - Entangled in Chaos
Saviour Machine - Legend I
Blind Guardian - Somewhere Far Beyond
Hardcore Superstar - Beg For It
(all full albums)

Good times :)

Also a full album listener:

The past few:

Sodom - Agent Orange
Early Man - Beware the Circling Fin
Iron Maiden - Final Frontier (loving this CD!)
Blind Guardian - Edge of Time
Future's End - Memoirs
Rush - Moving Pictures

just gave some Tony Martin* era Black Sabbath a spin with TYR and Headless Cross.

Fuck the haters. That's all I have to say. Yeah they're pretty 80's, but the material is rock solid.

Aside from that; Porcupine Tree - Transmission IV and The Sky Moves Sideways, Om - God is Good, The Sword - Wave Riders, and probably a few others, too. I generally prefer to listen to whole albums as opposed to individual tracks even if there are a couple of songs I don't like, so that list would probably be a lot longer if I were to list everything that wasn't sticking out in my mind at the moment.

Add these also from this morning (since I am enjoying a day off from work at home):

Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini
Dream Theater - Images and Words
Kamelot - Poetry For the Poisoned

I'm not familiar with Tony Moore era Black Sabbath, but I'm a huge fan of the Tony Martin era.

Augh. What the shit was I thinking? Corrected.

edit - I know what I was thinking now.
Sure they sound absolutely nothing alike, but my brain is 'tarded sometimes.
Thundersteel was one of my gateway albums when I was first really getting into the Metal.

Just finished up Pantera's "I Am The Night". Ive been listening to alot of complete Ulver records lately.. but not much else past that. Most of my listening time is dedicated to classical on the local NPR affiliate.

When not listening to my iPod on shuffle, I listen to albums in their entirety with no skipping.

Here are my last several spins:

Mustasch - Latest Version of the Truth
Motley Crue - Too Fast For Love
Masquerage - Moonlight Time
Sounds from the Ground - Kin
Ghost Brigade - Isolation Songs
Brant Bjork - Punk Rock Guilt
Biosphere - Patashnik

I usually play albums straight through, but I've been shuffling PPUSA bands lately getting hyped for the fest. Recently I've listened to Seventh Wonder's Waiting in the Wings and Mercy Falls, Steel Panther's Feel the Steel, Symphony X's The Divine Wings of Tragedy, Tetrafusion's Absolute Zero, James LaBrie's Elements of Persuasion, Boston's s/t, Heathen's The Evolution of Chaos, Illusion Suite's Final Hour. Just started Disturbed's Asylum on the drive this morning.

[edit] Duh, how could I forget Final Frontier. Well... okay don't answer that.

Here are several that I have been jammin' lately in their complete forms:

Raintime--Flies & Lies
DGM--Differant Shapes
Bela Fleck & The Flecktones--Live Art
Soilwork--The Panic Broadcast
Scar Symmetry--Holographic Universe
Persefone--Shin-kin
Ozric Tentacles--Waterfall Cities
Dream Theater--Images And Words
Tourniquet--Pathogenic Occular Dissonance

Of course there are a billion others that just pop through on random.
