Nah. I'm actually use to it. I get the same type of complaints year in, year out. I find it rather amusing because I remember people bitching about Mercenary, Freak Kitchen, and several others only to see the light in retrospect. Yes, I miss on occasion (Secret Sphere), but I like my winning percentage.


I just prefer educated bitching than blanket statements based on personal opinion. I love to read Zod & Magius's critiques because they think it through even if I disagree with them. I tend to ignore the "this lineup sucks" because they don't have a reference point or position to explain why other than to say they don't like the bands.

I have learned that past lineups will always look better than the current one because of nostalgia & looking at the current status of a band when reviewing the lineup instead of where that band was at the time I booked them originally.

I don't think there is a band I want to see more than Mystic Prophecy ... outside of maybe the impossible's like Ayreon, and Shadow Gallery. I think Mystic Prophecy would be pretty tremendous in the live setting.

A). Yours and my opinions don't matter in the grand scheme of things, but I do know that I will be at the festival having fun, and not at home bitching because I didn't like the lineup.

B). This festival wouldn't know weak lineup if it kicked it in the face, this fest will sell out, probably not beat the record, but WELL before October.

C). It seems that the entire post you made about "I will not be attending and neither will my friends, blah blah blah" was put on here just to create controversy. If you don't like the lineup, don't go, but don't make a big deal out of it. I guarantee you that the people who like this lineup vastly outweigh the ones who don't.

IMO: this year's lineup is MUCH stronger than last years. I think it will sell out much sooner too.

Out of the 9 bands that have been announced, I am already familar with 6 of them! That is more any other PP before!

You are to be respected as you have put out good shows (basically) in the past. But when you put up a thought like e. you just don't like the band and you wonder why there will be bitching?

I think that you might want to put a little more concern into the fact that maybe people will not like the band (s). Because unless you have a total kickass last spot band in the wings, I really don't think this will sellout. I think that this is a pretty weak lineup and the ticket demand will show it this year. If last year took until the last minute to sell out even with a band like Evergrey on the bill who have been on MTV, then I believe this will be even worse.

I will not be going and I have five guys I know that are much more into the Progpower scene than I will ever be and they have said they won't be going either. No disrespect, just a thought on the lineup. Good luck though.

Dude, Evergrey does not sell nearly the amount that Sonata does here. Sonata is already doing fairly good as a headliner, Evergrey is still not a headliner here. I think this fest will sellout with the lineup as it is right now. My only wish would be to add Kamelot but I dont think that will happen.

Goddammit DrumRman, don't tease me, Annihilator is my favorite thrash band EVER, and only behind Judas Priest to be my overall 2nd favorite band of all time. I have been screaming for them to be at this fest since before 3 happened. I would even settle for the pre-party, but the scenario is perfect, Glenn is the type of promoter that likes to get someone in the US first, and Annihilator has toured the US before, but not since the Judas Priest Painkiller tour, not even a one off (unless you count Jeff showing up at the Roadrunner Allstars concert in NY recently and doing a rendition of Alice In Hell. So the scenario is perfect, that is if they don't plan their North American tour (that is taking place next year) before October. We shall see. If they show up, I will be the happiest person on the planet, and you all will be Annihilated (pun intended).

I second the Secret Sphere comment, they weren't the best band I have ever seen, but they were quite good for me not being very familiar with them at all through their set.

remember,we have a rumored on again off again Crimson Glory reunion,and seeing as its not confirmed,its that way becasue Midnight is a wild card in every sense(and seeing as they only have 2 CDs-even though most of Astronomica was supposed to be origionally on Strange and Beautiful?)
Maybe he's trying to get Kai Hanson and Kiske in the same room?
Maybe he's trying to get a Psycotic Walts reunion(that would certainly fall under the WTF category)

Glen, you and Sean have booked 5, count them 5 of my wishlist!! I feel like I just won the lottery! Sonata Arctica, Pagan's Mind, Vanden Plas, Redemption & Threshold. And I'm looking forward to the others too. This line up is fantastic!

This year it's all about the music if you ask me... You have booked some amazing bands and this year will be a huge success no doubt...

I'm still hoping for a FFB! (Female Fronted Band) - After Forever or Within Temptation maybe? Don't know if either is headline material but I think they are worthy of Co-Headline status But it seems unlikely...
