What's your all time favorite song?

This ought to be very interesting - sometimes a full length album song can try the listener's patience (which I can understand because I like to listen to complete songs at a time, and sometimes you simply don't have the time to complete it before you need to move on to other things). Either way though - blind buy all the way. :kickass:
Uhhh... I think you should reread my post. I was joking.

I'm in the group that can't pick one... sorry ;)

Instrumentally, it's a toss up between any of these, depending on my mood:

Air on a G String - Bach
Unaccompanied Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major: Bach (performed by Yo Yo Ma)
Concerto No. 2 in Gm: Vivaldi (Summer of the Four Seasons)
Remembering Rain: Matheos
Icarus Dream Suite Op. 4: Malmsteen

With voice, it's a toss up between, again, depending on mood:

APSOG Part VII or The Road Goes on Forever: Fates Warning
Precious Things or Little Earthquakes: Tori Amos
Valley of the Kings: Blue Murder

Nearly impsossible to pick just one but here goes:

Neue Regel - Queensryche Rage for Order

They openned the show on the Rage Tour with this song and my musical outlook changed forever. No other band has awed me like that. Just fucking unbelievable intensity from Tate and DeGarmo. And they were an openning act for AC/DC.

Later
Phil

Queensrÿche - Take Hold Of The Flame
Dream Theater - Take The Time, The Spirit Carries On
Symphony X - Candlelight Fantasia
Iron Maiden - Infinite Dreams, Aces High
Nightwish - Over The Hills And Far Away
Savatage - All That I Bleed, Believe, Alone You Breathe

And if I have to pick one, it can't not be Believe.

Great songs everyone.... kudos to Bear for the Boston selection.

Aerosmith - Dream On
AC/DC - Shoot to Thrill
Angel Dust - Bleed
Angra - Acid Rain
April Wine - Sign of the Gypsy Queen
Brother Cane - The Crow Flies

Dream Theater - Metropolis Part 1
Dio - Don't Talk to Strangers
Metal Church - Badlands
Metallica - Creeping Death
Pantera - Cemetary gates
Pearl Jam - Black
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Powermad - Nice Dreams
Queensryche - Speak
Savatage - Gutter Ballet
Tad Morose - Ethereal Soul
Neil Young - Keep on Rocking in the Free World
Wratchild America - Days of Thunder

Angel Dust - Bleed

Excellent choice - I've been meaning to go back and revisit the Border of Reality/Bleed/Enlighten the Darkness trio. Some truly dramatic and powerful songs in there.

Great song

Queensryche - Speak

Interesting choice - I definitely dig the song, but have never heard anyone place at the top of their catalog until now.

"Gates of Babylon" -Rainbow.

And yet I listen almost exclusively to "Peter Gabriel" albums these days... :)

If you have not heard of Kevin Gilbert, I HIGHLY recommend getting your hands on "Shaming of the True" or "Thud". It borders between cool old Genesis & sometimes gets a little harder too!
If you are interested, drop me a note, or have the Mrs. do it, :)heh: )
Perhaps it could be a peace offering after the deleted thread.... :saint:
GREAT songwriter and always had a killer band too.....

Never heard of him, no. So those albums are kind of hard to find then?

My favorite Genesis album is "Nursery Cryme", most people disagree with me there and I think I see their point but it just happens to be just the thing for me. (Realizing now that Genesis clearly must be the exception to my "production heavy, later album"-rule.) :)
