Who will Headline?

Sabaton on Friday

Wolf on Saturday

Bury me stiff on Sunday :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Since this is a guessing game. I will guess Labyrinth, Primal Fear, DragonLand. No reason, just a wild guess.

I too would love for PoS to headline each and every year...

Fates Warning, Vanden Plas, and Symphony X would be awesome too. :D

RHAPSODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ..of fire.. !!!!!!
I wish.

I can actually see that happening,
I see this
Fri nite-Symphony X
Sat
R o Fire

Fri nite #4 slot-Crimson Glory Reunion
Sat Nite #4 slot-Either a Vandon Plas/or Pagan's Mind

and for those thinking Brainstorm returning at a higher slot is impossible
I think they possibly put on one of the best sets(energy wise) at ProgPower 4.If Edguy could headline,Brainstorm could (IMO,a MUCH better band)

Well this sucks.....Obviously Savatage isn't going to be there since JOP is in Europe that weekend

Oh well, i guess i'll be optimistic for yet another year...

Zeppelin (with John Bonham on drums) and Sabbath (with both Ozzy and Dio sharing the stage). And maybe we can get Iron Maiden for the pre-party? That would be so awesome!

Zod

LOL! I was thinking the same thing Zod. C'mon people. Be realistic. The only bands I've seen that are realistic are Vanden Plas and Sonata Arctica. Everything else is either fantasy, or bands that just don't qualify for headliners slots.

?
Pain of Salvation qualifies for headliner slot. After the extended set at PP1 and the schedule-dictated slot for PP3, they can hold the stage. I'd even like it since a lot of people who hate PoS could just leave early. It's convenient for them because they don't have to wait through a band they don't like to see other bands they do like, and it's convenient for me because I'll have more room on the floor.

Anybody want to work on starting a Pain of Salvation fest? 5 bands, four Pain of Salvation (Dark Suns can open).

Speaking of Dark Suns - put them on the fest! They deserve a 2-slot.

Possibles for headlining:

-- Nightwish, who have already stated that they'll start their world tour in the US next year
-- Symphony X
-- Gamma Ray
-- Therion (well, financially tough, but I'd looooooooove it)
-- Vanden Plas
-- Brainstorm
-- Heaven And Hell
-- Arjen A. Lucassen, in some sort of capacity that better include Ayreon, damnit :)

Bands not quite headliner status but who would be awesome to see:

-- PoS
-- Orphaned Land
-- Scar Symmetry (yeah they might be opening for NM, so? :))

Sonata Arctica (amazing live)
Helloween (even with Deris, and without Kai, I've never seen them)
Iron Savior (maybe a 4th slot, but who knows?)
Heaven & Hell (goes without saying how incredible this would be)
Cynic (why the hell is Sean Malone not in this lineup?)
Iced Earth (they could have Gene fucking Adam as the singer for all I care, God I want to see this band at PP!)
Arjen Lucassen in SOME form (highly unlikely)

Other hopefuls:

Rhapsody
Nevermore
Blind Guardian or Demons & Wizards
...did I mention Iron Savior? :)

Personally, I wouldn't want to see a returning headliner. Moving a previous band up from a lower slot seems a good move especially if they have some hype going on & new material.

Vanden Plas - l picked them to headline last year without any agreement on this forum...seems Christ.0 has changed some minds.

Labyrinth - Good back catalog of mixed power/prog...mostly prog on recent releases. They are currently working a new one. Their name has been tossed about before here.

Sonata Arctica - Had buzz last year, but were touring. Seems they still have some buzz even though no new material.

Royal Hunt - I know...it's been mentioned their touring tendencies aren't very reliable. I would like to see them. Might be a $ issue anyway.

Iced Earth - Would be great to hear Tim Owen wail. Probably would take some convincing with Jon i.e. $.

Dragonforce - There will disagreement here, but this band has buzz & energy to match. Would probably draw outside the PP audience also due to Ozzfest appearance. $ could be a factor though.
