Cheers and Jeers Thread

Cheers:

4) The disorganization at the time of opening the vendor area, and at the time of letting the Gold Bagers in

Nothing disorganized about it. Vendor doors were held because of a television show in the room that ran long. That was beyond my control. Doors were held because of techincal issues being fixed. It had nothing to do with disogranization.

I don't mind complaints, jeers, gripes, etc. However, I will stand up to ANYONE that says anything about disorganization. It's simply not true.

Cheers:

  • [*]The bartenders in Vinyl – Jaime rocks!

Jamie does rock - ran into him Saturday morning on the way to Starbucks and the guy bought me a coffee as well as buying a ton of their food!!! (oh the Starbucks lady thought we, and I quote, 'were sick') and bought me my first drink Saturday night...

How do you not love a guy that will buy ya coffee and alcohol.. it's a losing battle to deny it... :p

Got It. I take back what I said.

Cheers to AirTran:
1) Getting me there and back safe and sound.
2) Giving me a ticket on a 3-hours-earlier flight on Sunday without having to wait on a standby list.

And we had no idea that people were hanging out on the patio until we left to catch a train at 5 AM Sunday morning. If we had known, we probably would have wandered down, especially after Saturday's show, when we decided that it would just be easier to stay up after getting back to the hotel at almost 3 AM. I'll have to remember this for next year.

dt

Yep, each night I was at the RI there were at least a couple other people on the patio with many drifting in and out. If no one is there, just camp out for a few minutes and you'll see people coming and going, and likely a few of them will stick around too. We stayed up until breakfast on Friday and Saturday with NO complaints from the staff or police. We even left a mess (shouldn't have, but it happens) on Friday night and they still didn't kick us out on Saturday night. The night desk guy Chris even left the door unlocked for us so we didn't have to get our cards out everytime. I sure hope they are that cool with us next year!

Damn, I didn't know Kate was there. Normally, I'd never miss seeing someone that hot. ;)

I also didn't know Kate was there, dang it!

Okay, everyone open your program and look on the inside cover, bottom left corner. :p

We even left a mess (shouldn't have, but it happens) on Friday night

I talked to both the cleaning staff and the front desk clerk and appologized profusely for that. I told them that I went to breakfast and was going to come back down with a bag for trash and totally spaced it.

Both the cleaning staff and the front desk staff poo-pooed my appology and said it wan't a big deal at all.

The staff there was pretty damn cool to put up with all our shit. And I love the patio- it's far enough away from the rooms that we call all hang out and not get in trouble.

Okay, here's my list:
Cheers:
Annie and Tess for our conversation on Saturday night
SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!
Jeers:
The one drunk girl and one just plain annoying one who annoyed me several times during the weekend
HEY! You can't "cheer" me in one sentence and "jeer" me in the next ;)

MYYYY cheers are:
-Mom and Dad. I seriously have the BEST parents ever. Ever ever. Thanks for all your help this weekend and always taking care of your baby girls. :) It was fun people watching together too ;) and Daddy, I'll try to get better at throwing the "help me he's bothering me" VS. "SCRAM - I like him" looks ;) Do yourself a favor next year and meet my parents. They are THE best!
-Shaye for above said conversation on Saturday. Major props for being the bigger person (not literally ;))
-Shane for being the best brother EVER and talking me down for 2 hours in the middle of the night when all he really wanted to do was sleeeeeeeeep
-Finally getting to spend time with my husband of 3 years, yow yow ;) Thank you for catching me every time I fell on Saturday night. What was it like 402 times? Very nicely done.
-The video on Saturday night. I don't know if there was something in the air (aside from the obvious: SMOKE!!) or what but that video was a great idea! Very nicely done, Justin, and I love the idea of announcing the bands on Saturday after the show
-Kathy and James for being just the sweetest people EVER
-Angela and Brian for BOTH being nonstop fun
-Adam and Jaime for the random photography
-Linda for us finally talking for more than "hi, how are you, okay enjoy the show, and bye" after all these years of sharing so many of the same mutual manly friends ;)
-Finally meeting Nathan!
-My twin & BFF, Annie for finally drinking as much or MORE ;) than me. Sexy ;)
-LEAVING FOR DENMARK IN LESS THAN 4 WEEKS TO DO IT ALL AGAIN FOR 9 DAYS! :headbang:

JEERS:
-Cheap asses who try to borrow a badge to sneak friends in to the show
-Assholes who have been trusted with badges but allow the cheap asses to use their badge to sneak in
Seriously NOT COOL on both accounts.
-Zod for having NO idea what our names were even after talking for a while the night before! Booooooooooo :heh:
-Dudes who can't take a not so subtle hint
-As always, so many people to gab to for hours and not enough time to do it!
-Attention starved people who do anything to direct someone to them in mid-conversation. Seek help.

The bartenders at Center Stage – I can’t tell you how many times I got mad and walked off from the girl at the right and the Asian girl.

YES! Me too. She was rude to me. "WHATEVER!" ;)

A few more after reading Annie's ha!

-One more JEER to Shaney for not saying "SAY SANDWICH" during Krucible's set. Gah!
-and another CHEER to Daddy for the Quad, Venti, Non-fat, No-Whip, White Mocha EVERY morning and to mom because it was probably her idea ("honey, get those grumpy girls some coffee before we have to deal with them" JK!) We are all three SOO spoiled :)
-also a CHEER to Justin and William for the ride to the Vortex.....kind of..... :p whoever it was that said "yes we know where it is.....it's right down the street" owes us $15 for the cab ride back + pain & suffering. Figure it out between yourselves boys! :p

I think that about covers it!

Yea, we have the same laws here in Washington. It is so nice going to see a show and not having to burn my clothes afterwards. I don't know what grossed me out more, all the smoke in the air or watching people dump their ashes onto the carpet because there weren't any ash-trays (because maybe you aren't supposed to SMOKE!?!?!).

Actually, we spoke to the bartenders on Thursday and they specifically told us that we could smoke in the lobby but not in the venue area. Whether that was true or not, I have no idea....but nobody stopped me and told me not to smoke in the lobby the entire weekend. So...take it up with them (and I mean that in the nicest possible way) :saint:

CHEERS!

- FINALLY meeting Gus G...not once, but three times, and getting two (!!!) pictures with the Greek god himself (and having him sign my Nightrage CD booklet :worship:)

- partying with said bands on Friday and Saturday

- Barry and Jessica renting a car and carting us around all weekend and hooking us up with a place to stay :)
- getting tons of badass pictures with friends and bands
- the All Star Jam

JEERS!

- Friday's hangover from hell

- not having enough money for all the merch I wanted
- the weekend going by too quickly
- busted ATM at Center Stage

-Finally getting to spend time with my husband of 3 years, yow yow ;) Thank you for catching me every time I fell on Saturday night. What was it like 402 times? Very nicely done.

I heard it was more like 978 times he caught you?!

-LEAVING FOR DENMARK IN LESS THAN 4 WEEKS TO DO IT ALL AGAIN FOR 9 DAYS! :headbang:

9 days of drinking? Oh crap. I'm gonna be keeping an eye on "the trouble sisters" for all that time?

-Dudes who can't take a not so subtle hint

Well, you know I was completely hammered then so I don't remember ANYTHING from Saturday night, really :p

THANK YOU! Too bad I'm "old" now ;) You can tell me what it's like to be old when I'm in Denmark (not drinking) for 9 days. :)

I know you were completely drunk ... that's why I did my best to avoid you all evening.

I know absolutely nothing about being old, so I can't tell you anything :-(

Enjoy your b-day.

  • Kittybeast again for the pictures for Whisperer – I think he will be very pleased..
He emailed me as soon as he got them.......saying how he was even more PISSED he was not there this year after seeing them.

Cheers:

-To Glenn. Not only for a great fest and being a stand up promoter, but for letting me be a sponsor.
-To Cindy for being so very nice and handling the Gold Badge list.
-To Redemption for being class act guys. And for playing Sapphire. Dtfanatic really dug his get well card!
-To Pagan's Mind for yet again kicking my ass.
-To Damian for the chat, the kiss, and making me a Threshold fan all over again.
