Final 2 Headliners

NM have headlined at least a couple of tours in the US, but none since 03 (which is when I picked up on them). TGE should have made them an underground headliner IMO, but it just didn't seem to come together. In 05 they had a decent supporting set (45 minutes) in front of Opeth, which is better than nothing, but I'm still waiting to see them pull it all out for a good 90-110 minutes (or longer) in a top slot somewhere.

Amorphis is at headlining status and they do play a type of music that has this fanbase (I think). I'm not a fan myself, but I'll agree that they would fit the bill.

With the statement of 'cementing the progpower name' I think you have to assume something bigger and more jaw dropping than many have guessed here. Even Helloween would not be THAT jaw dropping if they were already touring the US with Gamma Ray that year.

Now, Gamma Ray is releasing a new CONCEPT album Land of the Free part II. Could a special setlist be in the works for the 'return' headliner in that regard?

To really cement the PP name however (and without considering Ayreon, Avantasia, which will never happen) I'm thinking maybe Shadow Gallery finally performs for the first time. Now THAT cements the name.

I'm not going to comment on guesses, but I will clarify the statement above. When I say "cement," I mean solidfy the reputation the festival has earned already. I did not mean that I was taking it to another level in terms of bigger headline names. That simply isn't possible with my budget. The tickets are going up because of the visa and regular inflation, not because I'm going after someone out of my league.

Btw, Avantasia and Ayreon...things like that would easily run $40,000-$50,000. Those things are beyond my capability.

Last time Nevermore toured US if im not mistaken was the Gigantour

And with Opeth in 2005, and I'm sure I'm forgetting other treks. It's almost to the point where I've seen them open as many shows as Into Eternity (and those guys are pretty much the house band from here to Canada). No, they haven't had a major headlining set, but unless Warrell is prepared to whip out some Sanctuary tunes, I can do without an hour and a half of Nevermore.
