Many of you here probably know that I have been very vocal and very critic of Powerglove. Actually, that would have been an understatement in the past - I really really thought they sucked. And I was an asshole about it.

Truth to be told is... I had barely heard the band - perhaps a few snippets of some songs and/or one full song. Man, I must have been in a really bad mood, and kind of jumped in the bandwagon of haters. After the ProgPower USA announcement that they would be playing the festival, I decided to give them another chance. Things started to click, and I realized that the music could be fun.

Last night I went to the Symphony X show here in NY. Not only I decided to catch their set (while most of my friends stayed out drinking), I also figured it'd be a good opportunity to get the ProgPower interview with them done. About the set, all I can say is, it was one of the most fun sets I've seen in a while. As for the guys... wow. Can't ask for any better people to hang out with. And (as a little teaser for the interview), you just *never know* who's watching you...

So to the PG guys (especially Chris and Nick, because I know you'll be reading this, lol), looking forward to Atlanta.

Aye fun band. Still hoping for a dragonball z theme.
If they do a Starcraft themed song, I'll give them another chance.
I'd like to see this

onstage. :tickled:

Seriously, glad you enjoyed their show. Wish I could have gone last night, though I suspect I probably would have stayed at Smiths. I'll definitely give them my three-song perusal in Atlanta.

I too was a jerk about them. Now I'm starting to appreciate them. On a related note, I noticed yesterday that they are opening summer slaughter. While I appreciate them more, I fear for their well being on that tour. I know they like going on tour after tour, but the fans of those bands I can't see liking them.

I liked them until their last CD came out. I'm a hardcore fan of games and thought the first 2 CDs were super fun, especially since alot of them tickled my nostalgia bone. I thought the last one was just stupid though. Trying to rearrange Elfman (on TWO occasions) for metal is like Green Day covering Dark Side Of The Moon.

Great. All it takes you to like a band you hate is for them to play the fest?

Wow, are you that slow that you didnt get my post dude?

I only forced myself to check the band because i'd be interviewing them. I liked it. And they're really cool kids too.
